The hotel was quite nice, and the rooms are spacious and comfy and the beds are top notch - you won’t want to get up in the morning. The breakfast was lackluster. The desk staff was incredibly nice and reminded us - every time - of the indoor pool and hot tub. Would absolutely stay here again. Rooms: The rooms are very comfortable and well appointed. Towels are super nice. Nearby activities: There is an upscale restaurant down the street which is nice, but there’s not much else nearby. Walkability: You can’t walk anywhere from here - additionally, Ubers/Lyfts are almost nonexistent Food & drinks: Breakfast was just a fridge with some yogurt and a couple pastry’s. The bar upstairs is very nice. And if you show up between 4-6 pm you can get a free glass of wine in the lobby.
Comfortable, accommodating, historic hotel. I’ve stayed here numerous times through the years on work trips. The staff is very friendly and always available. The rooms are nice and clean and provide all the necessary items. Complimentary breakfast items are extensive and always fresh.
I was visiting family some of them I haven't seen in years. Upon check in there were additional charges that were not in the original contract. While there the I couldn't help but to notice the maintenance needs of the building. Then while we were all having a good time I over heard employees taking negatively about our group. This is one of the most unprofessional things one can do. If you have a problem A. keep it to yourself B. Take it up with us directly. The fact that a employee did not have the ability to keep there comments to there self just shows what you are really getting here. Then the lack of maintenance around the building and the grounds was very disappointing. When you paid to be a top of the line place it needs to look like a top of the line place. If management would like to contact me I welcome them to. I have many years experience in the hospitality and tourism industry. This would be unacceptable at any place I have been at in the past.
A very nice, comfortable, colonial-style hotel. Some features felt a little dated not many USB ports for charging electronics in the room, but nothing to interfere with your stay, and everything was clean and well maintained. I definitely recommend it to people staying in the area.
Did not stay overnight but was here during the day for a conference. I just had to take a moment to recognize the wonderful staff and facilities! I had to take my lunch on the go during the conference and they were very accommodating and quick to respond to my special requests. Also, the food was delicious. Thank you!!
I stayed here in August 2022. The Simsbury Inn has 2 locations. A newer building with the other original building right down the street. I attended a wedding and stayed at the original location. I like character at the places I stay and the original Simsbury Inn did not disappoint. It is quaint and quiet with a beautiful view from up on the hill. From the amazing food to their friendly staff, it was magical. I watched the sunset from the common porch while sipping coffee rocking on one of their rocking chairs. I give this location 5 stars
There were a couple of nice things about my stay and there were a couple of not so noce things about my stay. First the nice: Rooms were cute, out dated but cute Staff was very friendly. Opened up an area for my party to gather and spend time together without having to cram into a room, super last minute. Service was good. Quick to respond to requests of pillows and toiletries. Now the not so nice: Peeling wallpaper, poor lighting in the rooms. Outdated light fixtures, not enough outlets in the room. We had to move furniture to get to outlets to charge our devices. The hotel does not have a checkout process on their smart tvs. When we checked in previous guests were still logged into Hulu, Netflix and other streaming services. So make sure you log out of those. The "continental breakfast" leaves alot wanting. And their hot breakfast buffet is overpriced and is made up of every other hotels continental breakfast, amd it is only avaliable Thursday to Sunday. What about your weekday guests? For the price of the room I do not think it was worth it and I would not come back.
Nice hotel . But for its price they could improve on several things including a better continental breakfast , improve room quality , keep bar/restaurant open later closed at 9pm on a Saturday ?. Still good experience just expected better for that price .
Professional and friendly staff. I love the upscale New England colonial charm! Great food options and location for outdoorsy vacationers. Beautiful outside and inside. There is a little wear in some rooms like other reviews have mentioned; however, nothing that compromises cleanliness. Jeanine the event planner is easy to work with and delivers a seamless event.
Overall property is fantastic, and everyone was very friendly & helpful. I’m taking off a star for 3 reasons. No shower cap in bathroom, my bed and pillows were not super comfortable, and all 3 meals I ordered from the restaurant came with a $15 fee simply because I charged to my room. Next time I’ll bring a shower cap and carry my cc with me.
