Great campground. Picnic shelter has beatifully carved doors. 8 or so RV or trailer spots, and a couple tent pads, though tents are duscouraged and even disallowed during peak bear season. Clean pit toliets. Great value at 20 per night. Campground is at one end of the Eskers/Smoke pit trail.
The campground is set up for up to 9 hard-sided units and has 2 tenting pads. The RV sites are close together, the tent sites are up on a bench. Tenting is not allowed where there is frequent bear activity e.g. when the salmon are running. The closest tenting that we found was in Hagensborg. There is a small picnic area and a beautiful shelter at the site with large cedar doors carved by Nuxalk Master Carver Qwaxwqwaxwanm Alvin Mack. This campground has a nice area by the river to view bears. The Tweedsmuir website says: "Peak viewing season September 1 to October 15". Keep in mind, however, that conservation officers are only at this site occasionally, so as always be bear aware.
Great place to go. Rocky though.
