If you like something quiet and a bit off the beaten path you will love this little spot. I was driving aimlessly looking for a cheap adventure. My eye went to the beautiful fall colors and I pulled over. So glad I did. It was a small , peaceful forest with one pavillon that I could see. I was the only one there. Great place to clear the mind!
Another great place for a hike to enjoy nature with a bike trail nearby and a pinic pavilion to enjoy a meal.
Fabulous picnic area! Took dogs too. We all loved it. Very clean, well kept grounds. Highly recommend!
You can park here to avoid paying the $30 parking for the botanical gardens. It's about a 20 minute walk from here to the gardens. You're not allowed to park there for ravinia concerts though.
Very small. Good for casual picnic or quick stop to relax. Conveniently located near Botanic Garden and Ravinia.

Fabulous restoration oak woodlands, with numerous high quality Illinois native plants, including one of the largest number of Jack in the Pulpit plants in the state. Convenient to the Chicago Botanic Garden and North Branch Trail. Includes parking facility and picnic shelter.
Good place to park for free if you want a long walk into the Chicago Botanical gardens.
I love this woodland.
Very pretty woods in and around an upscale neighborhood with a wide variety of beautiful and interesting homes. Walking and biking trails.
