Great food, mediocre service and subpar ambiance. We made reservations for two well in advance and got put in the far back, last table, of the restaurant. It was a small space where you could barely hear the music and I had car lights in my face the whole time from people picking up to go orders out back. Service, although super polite, was extremely slow. The food is what made the evening worthwhile. We started things off with the Shrimp Napoli and it was the best shrimp I've ever had, no joke. For entrees we had the Butternut Squash Ravioli and Chicken Parmesan, both fantastic. We also got a Douple Trouple Pizza to go because they are a Pizzeria after all and thought it was just okay. Would definitely recommend this place for the food and would request to sit out in the main dining area for the full experience.
Nice independent establishment in the north shore. As of now I’ve been there many times. Hand tossed pizza is excellent. Has perfect blend of cheeses and seasoning, and nice texture to crust - neither heavy nor flaky. Not overloaded with cheese or salt. Caesar salad is good - also not excessively salty. Garlic bread is served as a small loaf with divisions on the top. Great for passing around. Garlic and butter are added sufficiently, but not excessively. My brother in law had the cauliflower crust gluten free pizza and called it the only good cauliflower crust that he’s had. The fettuccine entree is the best I’ve had. Unique decor and styling - a blend of retro looks. Nice bar area. Overall, the atmosphere is casual and designed for socializing. There are no TVs. Outdoor patio seating available, during warmer times of the year, along Silver Spring Dr and Kent Ave, with string lights and heat lamps. Prices are a little higher than other casual sit-down restaurants in the area, but are appropriate considering the unique options and quality of cuisine. No parking lot, but plenty of street parking available. In my opinion, the best Italian restaurant in the north shore.
My husband and I went for the first time on a Wednesday for their Lambrusco & Lasagna Special. Lovely ambiance, & great friendly service. The food was absolutely delicious. We are anxious to go back & try more of their menu. We would highly recommend this place. It is family friendly despite giving off an upscale vibe.
Summary: Would not go here again. Have had better frozen pizzas. My spouse and I ordered the antipasto salad and a House Special pizza to share. The salad was a ramekin full of olives, feta, pepperoncini, pepperoni, and other very salty things mixed together. It was inedibly salty. The plate also included a pile of arugula and what looked like strips of grilled bread. It looked like hot, crispy bread, but despite having grill marks, it was room-temperature and flexible and stale. I don't know when they grilled it and what had been done to it since, but it was also inedible. The pizza had shockingly few toppings on it: about 4 banana pepper rings and about 2 slices of prosciutto torn into smaller pieces. Most bites I was eating cheese pizza. But the worst part was the crust--extremely thick 0.75" and quite undercooked with an artificial taste like frozen pizza or Pizza Hut and no yeasty smell. Are you buying this instead of making it??? I'm usually a person who eats other people's crusts, but this pizza was gross and $22.
Excellent Server! Ask for Sonia - this woman took care of our group with kindness & efficiency Sonia was extremely patient with 6 picky people's orders. Our 2 teenage granddaughters never took their eyes off their phones. We were embarrassed...we're the grandparents But Sonia took it all in stride The food was good too We'll return without the family next time Thank you, Sonia
This is an amazing place to eat. The energy is very warming. I love this place. I come at least once a week. The dessert changes and always a must have!!! Sometimes parking can be rough but just bring change for the parking meter. Thank me later!!!Food: 5/5
We arrived after 6pm on a Saturday without a reservation. We were seated right away. The cocktails were delicious and not as skimpy on the alcohol as some other $14 cocktails. The calamari came with a nice spicy dipping sauce. I got the special for the day, a ribeye puttenesca. The steak was cooked to order and the vegetable mix was so flavorful. We ended our evening with tiramisu and caramel gelato, both of which were individually exquisite but together amazing. We will be returning for more cocktails and to try some pizzas.
Beautiful atmosphere and the service is good. The food however was not good - I'm not sure who the chef is but they need a new chef. Pizza was the only decent thing out of my family of 4.
Sonya, is a great waitress/server. We enjoyed a couple of drinks, some calamari, side salads, and a pizza! While not thin crustour favorite it was quite delicious.Food: 5/5
Super nice staff! Great food. We had a minor mixup and they went above and beyond to make it up.
