Booked online, upon checking in charged another 50.00 fee for Incidental charge! Not told this upon Booking! Rooms Appeared Clean, No Carpet which was a Bonus Especially with this being Pool Side. The Door going to Pool Had metal locks both inside and Pool area that were Dirty and Rusting. Should be Cleaned Regularly Beds were very Uncomfortable..We Both sank to the Middle of Bed, Pillows were filled with Large Sponge Filling, Very Uncomfortable. Walls were Dirty and Marked Up.. Bedding Had Old Stains on. Bathroom has No Fan Switch for Air to Circulate, No Fan Running at All! The Vent above Wall in Shower was Very Dirty and Dusty. Had not been Cleaned in a Long Time!nThe Pools were quite Cool to Swim, the Kids Liked the Water Slides but the Splash Park was down the Hall in another Area. We had to go get a Staff Member from the Water Slides to show us how to turn on the Splash Park Fountains. They were very hard to Push. No Staffing In Both areas at All times we Were told! You need your Key Card to access both areas as well. Not so Good for when your Swimming! The jacuzzi and Splash Park had a Very Strong Stale Smell to them. The Kids did not stay in that Area for very Long because it Smelled so Bad!nThe One Hallway was Under Construction but only had One sign posted coming from Main Desk, No Sign Posted coming From Rooms! Carpet was Removed but the Underlay Remained, was Tattered and Torn and Curled Up Very Dirty and Smelly! A Very Bad Health and Safety Issue! Someone is going to Fall and Likely Sue this Hotel. According to Staff this Hallway has been like this For Sometime..nThe Restaurant had Good Food and the Service was Great!nThis Travelodge in Saskatoon needs to Clean Up..Especially for Health and Safety Reasons!! Will Not Stay Here Again!
We have stayed before and noticed it was not the cleanest. This time was the worst.nOur room had hair all over it. The bathroom could not have been cleaned prior to us checking in it was absolutely disgusting. We had a room with three beds. One bed you could feel the springs digging into your back while you were sleeping.nnWe had people banging on our door at 3am while we had 4 young children with us.nnThe food in the restaurant last time I was there was great so I suggested to go back this time and it was dirty and the food was terrible this time. Very terrible.nnCheck in is always fast and easy. Only plus of this hotel.nnWe always stayed for the water park for the kids. But we now decided we will find another hotel with a good pool and avoid this hotel.
I made a reservation with the hotel 1-800 number. The reservation process went smoothly. Be advised that when you dial that number the room rate is in US$ not C$ and I was not informed! Check-in was a smooth process. The room was as ordered and was nothing special. The journey to get there was like walking through Gaza. Walls scratched and scraped badly needing paint. The carpets in many areas had been ripped out leaving dried glue on cement floors. The Redzone pub journey was just as unappealing but inside the pub not bad but nothing special Service was good. Had a smoked brisket sandwich not bad. In conclusion the hotel did not even mention they were renovating or maybe they are intent on leaving the hotel in the shabby condition. They did not even have a sign offering an apology for the war torn look and inconvenience. I wanted to stay at The Parktown in Saskatoon where I normally stay however they were booked up that night. There is even a better reason to stay at the PT after my first and last experience at the TL!
Alot of mixed reviews come in about this place, I think it's like anywhere and everyone else in life... Good days and bad days. Personally I have had zero Problems staying here. The front desk staff do there best to move things along and help out how they can, at times being swamped, but they make it happen. The house keeping staff are more than happy to take care of all your needs within the rooms, and the restaurant staff is cheery and always remember you when you return. The Travelodge has all the amenities you can need for a little weekend get away or extended stay, with two water parks, 3 food options an off sale and a sports bar attached as well as roving security for the parking lot and facilities. Across the way there is a coop gas bar and it's on the main freeway to get you wherever you need with ease. Every where you go it's going to be hit and miss and personally for me and my family with our 5 kids it's been a hit every time. Can't beat it.
Close the gym, the only treadmill that works can only go 2 different speeds as they are the only buttons on the unit that work. All of the equipment belongs in the landfill. Rooms are dirty, and extremely noisy by the pool. Waterslides are fine, but not worth the price of the room. Stay elsewhere.
