Our daughter moved her personal belongings from Ontario to Alberta. We checked out several moving companies; some a bit cheaper and some more expensive. We were urged to go with one of the big 2 moving company groups many brands instead of a smaller independent company. After great deliberation and research we chose Trans Canada Moves. Our experience from the research stage through final delivery was excellent. Our customer service representative was freely available by email and telephone - even after we booked the load. She even provided contact info for another CSR, just in case she was away. All our questions were answered promptly and correctly. The pricing offered was the pricing invoiced. Nothing unexpected happened, which is a big relief for al involved. The pick-up date was within their quoted range earlier than the big companies. We weren't available for the pick up in Toronto, so we arranged for a family friend to be present which was no problem at all. The truck arrived on time. The friend was late, so dispatch called us to respectfully and calmly confirm arrangements. The stored personal effects included a few garbage bags of clothing. As previously quoted, TCM provided a packing service - only for the garbage bags they will not move garbage bags. The movers actually used a combination of 5 cubic foot boxes and wardrobe boxes, so that everything was packed safely and securely for less additional cost than we expected. The movers also filed those boxes with small goods i.e. lamps and kitchen goods so that the boxes were full. The unload went very smoothly. Dispatch gave 24 hours notice. The driver called on the day with a specific time. Everything was carried up to the apartment and placed in the correct rooms. The driver and team were professional and respectful. Our daughter, who met the truck, said she was completely at ease the the TCM team; no sign of misogyny here! I highly recommend Trans Canada Movers. They did everything we asked them to.
