Had them do a job a while back, guy came out and left in the middle of the job for 2 hours to finish another job elsewhere and returned to finish. When we got the bill, they charged us for the 2 hours he was gone. I'm sure he charged the other customer for the same 2 hrs. Making a mistake is one thing, but they argued it. Unbelievable!

Had a leaking dishwasher in my home after Horn's Contracting did a remodel because of water damage. Shortly after the job had been completed by husband died unexpectedly. I called Jason Horn to let him know about the leak which I had noticed the week after the death of my husband I also asked him why the plumber didn't put the weight back on the hose to the faucet. Anytime I used pulled the faucet head out to use it the hose wouldn't go back into faucet. The bottom of cabinet was wet in the corner below the DW hose and when turned on the hose was sparing water in at least 4-6 different spots. The floor of the cabinet was soft and a bit spongy. . He in turn called Traner who came to my home, put the weight on the faucet hose. His comment was the weight wasn't there or he would have put it on? You would think a "good" plumber would have asked about the weight, knowing the type of faucet he had re-installed. He could not repair the dishwasher until I ordered and received the new hose so I told hi, M I would call when received but that I was away from home quite often but that I would call him. When arranging the return appointment I was told this would not be a part of the remodel and would I wouldneed to pay to have the dishwasher hose replaced. . My response to the person on the phone was that Mr Horn was the person that notified them of the problem and that it had been leaking from the time it was reinstalled by them. At that time I told the office person at Traner's I would need to know what the charge would be for the installation PRIOR him doing the work. The office person said that would be fine and he would still arrive at the scheduled time. Upon his arrival nothing was said regarding cost so my thought was it would be considered a part of the remodel.or no charge due to plumber error (Did not replace weight and dishwasher leakage). Once Mr Traner had repaired the DW he asked how we would take care of the bill, which was $85. When I informed him that I had specifically asked his office staff to tell him I needed a quote PRIOR TO him doing any work; going so far as to say I could re-schedule this when this was settled. Mr Traner claimed he had talked to Jason (Horn) and was told this couldn't be billed as a part of the remodel done earlier. I informed Mr Traner that had I known there would be a charge for this and thatbeen informed prior to the installation I would not have authorized it because a family member could have done it for me. He had no response. It's sad that.there are no so many business owners are so quick to take advantage of other's misfortune. It's also very interesting how easy it is for some people to take advantage of a woman. Even though I felt I did not owe this, I did paid the $85 charge at which time Traner left without providing me a receipt. I will call and request one be mailed though. I paid this charge knowing this would be the very last time I would ever do business with this company and that I would not only pass my opinion of Traner's Plumbing on to my family, friends, coworkers, and anyone else listening; I will also provide this information to The Better Business Bureau and The Oregon Department of Consumer Affairs.
