My boyfriend and I purchased tickets from WagJag on the Aurora Borealis in August 2022 for a dinner/dance cruise. There was an additional charge once we went to place the booking but the total for WagJag and booking fees came to about $85 per person so we still went ahead and did it. And I'm glad we did! We had a fantastic time. We got there a half hour before boarding to make sure we got a seat on the upper deck as it has a better view and that's where the DJ, dancing and bar are located. Like other reviews have said, the boat was old - but not in bad shape at all. The setup and food was nothing fancy but I wasn't there for a gourmet meal or fancy linens. I was there to have a few drinks, enjoy some delicious food, meet some new people, cruise on the water, wave at the other boats, listen to some awesome music, dance up a storm, and watch the sunset over the lake - and that's what I got! The crew were excellent: super friendly and accommodating. I would soooo do this again! Parking was only $12 in the adjacent lot, which was a really nice surprise. They even brought out some free shots while we waited in line to board. Not sure if they do that all the time but it was a really nice bonus and got the party started! :D
Very unprofessional and rude staff. food items according to menu shown on the website we’re missing. We were forced to sit on lower area by owner even we reached there early. Definitely not worth to spend money here.
We purchased a dinner cruise on Groupon for us and our friends. For $39 plus tax and tip, this isn't a terrible deal. No, it isn't a spectacular meal but it was as expected, and the experience of haing dinner and a few drinks while cruising around the Toronto Harbour was nice. Scenery was great. Staff was friendly. Music was good 80s music and we had fun dancing. Everything was on time. I think if you're expecting much more, you're going to be disappointed. All around, for the money we had fun.
Stay away. Terrible experience. The Aurora Borealis cruise is a trap. Will never use that again and I do not recommend this cruise. The boat is old and stinky. We were a party of 4 people on 3 hrs dinner cruise with groupon. The food is basic, beverages are not included. Upper deck sitting with music, bar and nice open air view was all reserved for non groupon buyers. With groupon we got sitting on lower deck, with no music, no bar and no view. But with the huge line of people from upper deck standing to get the food plates. Yes the food distribution is on the lower deck. They have double charged me for the tax and service. The charge for the tax was based on higher groupon rate than I paid to groupon. The service is awful, could not reach anybody to ask for the refund of double charge.
Would never do it again, ran out of dinner buns before everyone even went through, dessert, and food is low quality, drinks are super expensive and small. Staff smoking everywhere, Never again, think twice...
DO NOT BOOK! Aurora Borealis The food is sub par. You get 3 things served cold on a paper plate. The boat is disgusting. There is holes in the walls everywhere, spider webs and spiders on every inch of the walls. The women's washroom has 4 stalls. One of which has no door, the other that has no toilet seat and the other 2 which don't lock. There was spiders dangling all over the food and when we pointed one out to the staff she brushed it onto the floor. To top it all off, we caught a staff member secretly video taping a couple who was showing affection. Very inappropriate and disturbing. Do not waste the money on this cruise.
We had a fantastic time on our Dinner Cruise with Toronto Harbour Cruises, the staff were so helpful and guided us to our seats when we boarded. The dinner was outstanding, make sure you check out the BBQ Chicken it was heavenly and the little desert tarts afterwards were too. I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting a romantic dinner with their significant other or even a group of friends, you won't be disappointed!
If I could give this no stars I would. We purchased 2 Groupons for this in May. We booked it online on May 21 for an August 6 cruise. However, we didn't get a reservation email in the 7 days that was supposed to happen. I emailed in June, and early July asking about it, I called twice to ask about when the reservation is to be expected ...all they said was... we're back logged, don't worry, you'll get the email soon. I called a third time the day before the cruise and the guy was old and rude saying..."You'll get your reservation!" 5 hours before the actual cruise, I receive an email telling me that there was a technical error on their end and my reservation is now cancelled. Why in the world did they not tell me this during the times I called and emailed? We have 4 kids and plans over the summer. Which is the reason why I booked it 3 months in advance. They decide a few hours before the cruise to cancel and think it's okay to simply send an email?? I called him within an hour of getting the cancelation and he asked me this "You reserved with a Groupon right?" "I can't help you". OMG!! Terrible terrible TERRIBLE biased decision. My husband and I will be sure to voice our opinions in every location that we possibly can. Do not waste your money....it's a poor example of a business. Take the other tours!
We joined with union members on Sep. 13. Open bar charged our drinks twice for each purchase. Please don't pay anything with your credit card on the cruise.
Terrible experience! Food was bad. the ship is old and dirty. I attended the cruise on July 30th and they double charged me. I have called them countless times for a refund and still haven't received one!
