Toronto French Montessori School

Highly recommended. If as parents you are looking for a place that is nurturing, diciplined, and offers the best of education in 3 different languages and academics, this is the school that garantees a life time learning for the children. I found TFMS after 2 years of continous search for a french based , montessori school. TFMS was the only school among 8 other montessories that my husband and I visited twice. Mme. Marie the principle took her time every time to not only show us around but to explain the curriculum, walk my little girl who was 3 Y/O to the casa class designed for under 6 Y/O and answer all our questions patiently. We were quite impressed when at our second visit Mme. Marie called our little one by her first name that is BTW not an English name and sometime hard for some to pronounce. We registered our little one in 2018 and our son 2/5 Y/O in 2021.We are very satified and proud of our decision. Her progress in French, English and now in Spanish is outsnading. Her curasive has improved so well. every details in their cademic is being taken care of. As well for my son, he would sing nursary rhymes in French at home.My daughter's behaviours towards elders and youngers and at home , sociability, her enthusiasm to lead is already outstanding to many of our friends. Because of the montessori methods, she has bonded so well to her friends at the school as in most cases they work in groups. This has helped them to establish good team-work skills. Before covid, the one interesting strategy Mme.Mari has always show-cased was in every school events, every child has a part. They are on the stage all together when at the same time each one of them had a role to play. Amazing! Unlike some of other French schools I visited prior to TFMS, from the moment they enter the school, they speak in French. Mme.Marie, used to great every child by first name at the door and shake hand before pandemic. This is very important to us as her ability to adopt French language was a priority for us. Mme. Marie, knows every child, what they like, and how they behave etc. School notes we get at the end of every semster are very thorough and specific to your child.. You know lines were not copy pasted. Teachers have been around long years which also was a point for us. Another important point is that Mme. Marie is always available to any concerns from parents. As a side note: In a trip to Quebec city our daughter who is 7 now would lead us all around speaking in French. as we don't speak it. She would comforts us that she would take care of orders etc,. This school also offers summer camps that is a good blend of fun and academic learnings for older kids. TFMS, has given us peace of mind in recent years that our two children are in good hands until they graduate from grade 8.

I've had the privilege of working at this exceptional school for 10 years and I cannot recommend it highly enough. The students are incredibly polite and motivated, while the teachers are dedicated professionals who are truly passionate about providing the best education possible. The curriculum here is second to none, with a strong emphasis on learning languages at an early age. The school draws curriculum from across the globe and incorporates philosophies from Montessori, Waldorf, and traditional schooling methods. Small class sizes foster a strong sense of community among students and staff, creating a warm and supportive learning environment. Parents are also actively involved in their child's education, fostering motivation among students to learn and succeed. The only drawback I can think of is their sporting facilities is a bit lacking when compared to larger schools, though this can be mitigated by enrolling in recreational sports elsewhere to supplement their physical education. Overall, I highly recommend this outstanding school to any parent seeking an exceptional education for their child. It truly is a fantastic place to learn and grow.
