I didn't attend this school personally,nbut I was a patient multiple times for a student that I am close with. I have reviews based on both what they shared, and what I personally experienced while at the school.nnThe standout awful practice that needs to be corrected is that they have varying working Dental Hygienists that come in to instruct, which sounds great for variety, but unfortunately most instructors:n1 are random working dental hygienists, not professionally licensed/certified teachers.n2 are not coached on the school-specific material and offer varying often contradicting instructions, which usually leads to a student failing a crucial requirement.nOne instructor tells them to do it like THIS,nthen the instructor tomorrow says you fail UNSAT because you did it like THIS, when instead you should have done it like THAT.nVery confusing for a student, since what they learn is specific to the Toronto College of Dental Hygiene, and what the instructors tell them might be unique to their own personal work experience.nFailing a certain requirement can prevent a student from graduating. Retaking the semester requires more money and isn't even guaranteed they'll be accepted again.nnNot only that, but students are looked down on for calling out instructors and management for their mistakes, and often times nothing is done about it anyway.nInstructor 1 told you to do it like THIS?nInstructor 2 doesn't care, and fails you anyway because that's not how Instructor 2 does it. Just terrible.nnA heavy fear-based environment, seeming like they want students extremely submissive to their senior staff.nI can understand working a service-based industry and wanting top tier customer service. I've seen it done right, but this ain't it.nnThe overall atmosphere seems like whoever sucks up the most gets along the best... They only want to pass YES-people.nSome students that are missing requirements will make deals with other students on group-chats to swap patients to qualify for those requirements good for team building, but then 1 student won't keep their end of the deal, leaving the other student out of a fair patient to bargain with later, and still a missing requirement...nnThere were 2 or 3 great instructors I personally enjoyed interacting with on my visits, and it pains me that I don't remember their names to provide them the credit.nnOverall, I've interacted with / witnessed about 8 instructors and unfortunately the bad outweighed the good.nThe way they speak to the students can be hostile, negative, and entitled and that's just in front of me - I can only imagine in private. It left me in awe.nI was very happy with the student I supported and the work they did on me. 10/10.nBut I felt so sorry for them and I hope if someone is looking to study in this field, please consider that this school may be better for an already working, or experienced Dental Hygienist and not someone brand new looking to get into it.nI witnessed and was told there is a serious lack of instructor leadership, with no real support system for students to learn.nDon't be fooled by the cost, or by the short length of the program. Both will increase if you are new. If you value a place with respect, and integrity - this place might look good aesthetically, but internally is ugly and I would highly encourage you to look elsewhere.

To all drivers:nnPlease take the time to drop off passengers properly without blocking the driveway or parking irresponsibly. Every morning at Toronto College 28 Vanley Crescent, there are frequent arguments due to drivers stopping directly at the front door, despite ample space available nearby for drop-offs. This behavior creates congestion, with some drivers becoming impatient and rushing, as seen in the video where one driver nearly collided with another vehicle. Additionally, some drivers park across the lines of parking spaces, as shown in the photo, causing further inconvenience and reducing available spots for others.nnLet’s work together to ensure safe and efficient drop-offs for everyone. Currently in attendance at this college and I have to say Ive had a great experience so far. Really nice staff as well as fellow classmates. Mrs Marla and Mrs Cathy are amazing instructors in Clinic practice Ive learned so much and you could really tell they care about their students and our success.

I was a student at the College of Toronto and studied there for two semesters. Despite all the hardships, stress, and mental pressure that students were subjected to, I was able to persevere. This was even more challenging for me because I was 47 years old and English was not my first language.nnUnfortunately, I had a very bad experience - an experience unlike anything I had encountered in my 47 years of life. After two semesters of hard work during which I earned high grades, I was suddenly dismissed from the faculty. The reason? I had opened my patient file without them being present at the clinic - an action that resulted in my dismissal without any warning, information, or explanation.nnAs a result, I had to leave the college and start my studies from scratch at another institution.nnI want to share my personal experience from those two semesters because it had a profound negative impact on me. Title: A School That Prioritizes Profit Over Student SuccessnnAs someone who spent two semesters at this college, I strongly advise prospective students to reconsider. My experience here was disappointing, from the poor quality of the teaching to the lack of support in clinical training.nnOne of the biggest issues is that students receive little help finding clients for clinical practice, yet are penalized for struggling with the process. The clinical environment is outdated, with broken equipment, broken computers, and a lack of proper resources for student success. Inconsistent guidance from instructors only adds to the confusion, as each applies different standards, leaving students confused and overwhelmed.nnWorst of all, the school has apparently manipulated its online reputation by instructing its staff and friends to post fake five-star reviews to boost its bad rating. Many of the positive reviews come from people affiliated with the institution, rather than actual students.nnMeanwhile, the owners of this school are multi-millionaires, as revealed in a Toronto Star article about their lavish mansion. However, students are forced to work with old computers running Windows Vista and outdated, ill-fitting dental chairs.nnIf you’re considering this school, think twice. The emotional and financial toll is not worth it, and there are better options that truly invest in your education and future success.

My daughter had a very difficult experience due to the actions of Crystal Chan. I would caution other parents against enrolling their children at this school. The staff demonstrated a lack of understanding and flexibility, even in situations involving legitimate and natural circumstances. As someone who works in the healthcare field, I find their unwillingness to accommodate basic needs unacceptable. Overall, it was a disappointing experience and not a worthwhile investment of time or money.
