We did not expect that! Absolutely great food and super nice staff! We showed up as a group of 23 - without any reservation - and we got lucky today. They do not have any struggle to get us all fed at the same time and we enjoyed a great time. Thank you :Food: 4/5
Definitely a touristy place, they definitely take advantage of that like all the other bars and restaurants around the astronomical clock by adding a big service charge - which is sometimes not deserved - and having a big turnover of clients. However service was fast, beer and cocktails were good!
This place is a tourist trap. Do your research before you eat, don’t make the same mistake I did. I thought it would be fine for a drink. First red flag we were told cash only. Then we ordered two cocktails and it was well over 500CZK. Not to mention they added an ‘optional’ 12.5% tip to the final bill, which i nearly missed. This was our first dining/drinking experience in the city so we had no concept of how things should have been priced, or how tips were handled. Also, a lady asked to take our picture while we were drinking. I asked what for and she said it was for their “website”. Sure no problem, she came back 5 minutes later to try and sell me the picture… Just walk an extra 50 yards in any direction and you will get a far better experience. Do 1 minute of review checking, etc. This was the one and only bad experience we had in Prague, a beautiful city let down by those trying to make a quick buck for the sake of their reputation.
Visited this very unfriendly and hostile establishment for one drink on a Saturday evening. Having had two white wines, the bill came with a ‘recommended’ 12.5 percent service charge which came to a surprise considering the service was inadequate. When we asked to remove the service charge the older waitress with darker hair and a sleeved arm was extremely hostile, confrontational and rude. She attempted to force us to pay the service charge by stating the charge was compulsory, rather than recommended. Further to this, as we pressed the issue she became argumentative and went on to label us as ‘poor people’ and asked us where ‘we came from’, specifying the charge was only a small amount and therefore we should most definitely pay this. This establishment is nothing less that a poor ran restaurant that hopes to trap tourists into thinking it’s a sophisticated restaurant. Having spent the past few nights visiting this lovely city, we were astonished that such a basic and over priced restaurant with such poor customer skills would expect anything more than an empty restaurant. The women in description should think very long and hard about her job and who the poor people are, when taking into account her very poor attitude. Won’t be back and recommend strongly that no ever visits. Rest assured, all other establishments were not like this with great restaurants and very friendly staff. Don’t ever come here
Service was not good felt I was bothering them making an order. Got the Goulash soup it had too much oil and too much herbs which takes away the natural taste. They made up for the chocolate pudding that was very nice. Plus paid buy card and was automatically added tip of 12%. You should never be made to make a tip. However they should be paid better in the first place.
It is located at the heart of the old town. Good location, touristic menu and good view. Hamburger was ok not very special.
You should know that this low rating is not occasional. The only advantage and the reason why this place still operates, is its position just opposite the famous clock tower. They rely on the enormous tourist current, and have left behind all the other elements needed for an eating place - like kitchen and service, they are disastrous. When we complained about the indifferent and arrogant service, they just started mocking about that between themselves and in front of us. They should never survive in this hospitality business
Nice food and pleasant staff. We sat outside with the heaters in and it was more than warm enough. Was alittle surprised at the cost but this was a prime tourist spot.Food: 4/5
I don't know if the beer I would have ordered would have been good or degassed as I read in another review but since they didn't make us order I can't judge that bad service. My husband and I wanted to get something and decided to go to this place because it is in front of the clock. We downloaded the menu with the QR code found at the table but no one showed up until a woman appeared who told us to leave in an extremely abrupt and rude way. From the other reviews I had the confirmation that they are rude bullies who enjoy treating people badly for no reason. There are people who should not work in contact with people.
