I came here for a quick bite before bed and had a good experience! My girlfriend and I ordered some sushi and were not dissapointed! The rolls are about the size of your palm!! They were very tasty and priced fairly. We also got sushimi which was good, however there were still a fee pieces that were frozen. The interior was normal. However the staff were great!! Its an elderly couple running the resteraunt and they are extremely swee and welcoming! She came to check in on us frequently and always made sure we always had enough food! I would be happy to come back here again!
Not that they care about reviews. If you would like some food after a long, stressful trip and decide that you would like some Japanese food you unfortunately look not in the reviews first. We didn't ether. Only one other table was occupied at lunchtime. The waitress looked unimpressed and shoveled some crumbs from the table on my purse. The table was sticky and so was the toilet seat... maybe they use the same dish cloth to clean it. I was offered a fork with some old foid sticking to it... later confronted with it the waitress brushed it just of. The Bento box was a bad surprise because what was inside was quite interesting. The Salmon Teriyaki was okay. Soy sauce should be added at the table according to my taste and not what the chef thinks I have to like.
Not bad for a small town. The lady who served us was unconventional. Bento box is not served for dinner. Beef teriyaki and chicken teriyaki both tasted a bit sweeter than usual.
Service was a bit odd. No one greeted me upon arrival. I waited to be acknowledged before I decided to approach the chef and instead I took the lead to greet him. A woman appeared and asked what I needed. She seems fragile so I suggest being patient with her. The wait for the food was 30 mins. The cones have no veggies, are quite small and is more expensive than sushi in Edmonton. The rolls were tasty. Seasoning on their rice is perfect. There was 5 of us eating sushi and we all experienced the soy sauce served to be especially salty. The sushi alone without soy sauce is delicious none the less!
Food was super fresh, but every other point of the take out process was sub par. The waiting bench needs a fix. Quoted 30 mins wait time maybe short on staff?, but they were right on time. Unagi rolls a little shy on meat but still really good. tasty pickled ginger, weak wasabi. Delicious gyoza, yummy Cali rolls and salmon avocado rolls. Average price, not too bad. Fresh ingredients is all I care about though, and they did have that. The owners were also very nice :
Excellent experience here. Best sushi in town; large pieces, great preparation, tasty, and fresh food. My one and only complaint would be how long it could take to get service once sat down, if the place is busy. Seems to be ran by a friendly Japanese couple, so there's one in the kitchen and one on the floor. I can imagine it getting a little overwhelming for them during busy rushes, but so worth the wait! Best sushi in town, hands down.
What I really love about Tokyo sushi is amount of variety that there is in their sushi. Compared to the usual sushi rolls that you get at most Japanese restaurants, this place mixes things up. I have never had better dynamite rolls in my life. Their sushi is fresh and the service is quick. The lady was super friendly to my kids too. If you ever travel to Hinton, Tokyo sushi could be a great place for you to go.
Googled a sushi place in Hinton, ordered over the phone for a pick up. I'm sure the lovely people running the place are japanese and who else will make you a better sushi. We ordered a vegetable udon,3 miso soups,6 or 7 rolls and paid about 65 . They were on time with our oder and I would not mind even if not. There was only one gentlman "cooking" so I would understand if it took a bit longer. Food was fresh, best sushi we had in Alberta so far. Will definitely be our sushi place when staying in Hinton. The place itself looked a bit older, but who cares if the food is great.
First of all, the taste of dishes I give it 3 out of 5. Everything is taste like salty soy sauce. The most disappointed of this restaurant is their services, if I could give negative rate, it`s definitely -5. We came with 5 people, but they only give us 4 pair of chopsticks. After we chose our meal ,we wait more than half hour. That is not the worst part of their services. Near the end of meal, there is a waitress come out, and keep asking us to pay. At this point, I decided pay 0 tips to them. Surprisingly, the waitress trying to included the 15% tips in the bill, and she asked my visa, I believed she want hide it from me. After I figured it out, she is looking really angry and disappointed. With this kind of service I suggest you don't eat there, really not worth it.
Yam tempura rolls and California rolls were super fresh and tasted great. Also tried the chicken yakisoba and gyoza and some of the best I've had. Definitely worth a stop for lunch or dinner. Pick up took around 30 mins to make if you're calling ahead
