My wife and I had the buffet, it wasn't terrible. It tasted a little old, sometimes it happens with a buffet style setup. The staff was amazing, super friendly. There's a gentleman who works here has a limp older gentleman, hands down a rockstar, awesome, down to earth, awesome to talk to. This guy even came by to my wife and I too wish us a Happy Anniversary and hook us up. Would definitely go back.
Stay Away! We had no other options for breakfast unfortunately and thought we would try it despite reviews. First you are greeted with a several hand made signs telling you what not to do. “Don’t open this door, Don’t touch this, Don’t Enter here, and the one shown below. The hostess waits and seats several groups at once, I think she wants to save herself from walking people to their table over and over. Once they seat you they tell you it is only a buffet, no menu. They never tell you how much the buffet is, it is $14.99. The buffet consists of a variety of fruit, really bad, not real crumbly scrambled eggs, plain and some that have some cubed ham and peppers. There were some pancakes, biscuits and gravy, bacon, sausage and potatoes. The irony of it all- No Toast. You do not serve yourself, you just point and they place it on a plate for you. Do yourself a favor and skip this place.
Pretty good breakfast buffet all around. The soda was flat though, even after switching out drinks. The service was pretty good.
This was a breakfast buffet. The decor was cute but the food was terrible. No idea what the biscuit gravy was made of but it wasn't a typical gravy. The bacon was over cooked and the sausage was boiled. My husband took all of 3 bites and I had 2 before we left. Even though we had next to nothing, we still paid full price.
It's a buffet. If you're looking for gourmet breakfast, keep looking. If you want a decent breakfast to fill you up for your island adventure, you found your spot. Skip the Mimosa. It's not the drink you're looking for. Have more bacon instead.
Very very overpriced for what it is. They advertise "breakfast buffet" but it's the equivalent of a hotel breakfast. They have premade waffles, toast etc on hotplate along with sausage links, patties, scrambled eggs and bacon. They have the individual cereal bowls just like hotels. Nothing really tasty or worth mentioning. $22 before tip for lukewarm scrambled eggs, sausage links, bacon and coffee
We decided to try this place out, a bit apprehensive about it due to so many poor reviews. We arrived about 8:30-9am on a Sunday morning. It was busy. The guy at the host/hostess area sat us and another family at our own tables pretty much right away, and he was kind and friendly. There was a line at the buffet, likely due to the fact that the staff was serving the food vs self serve which, let's be real - it's way more sanitary that way. The staff was generous in portion sizes and got us through quick. The fruit was delicious and super fresh, everything else we tried was good eggs weren't great, but I wasn't expecting much being that it's a buffet. My son loved the tater tots, bacon and link sausages. He also devoured the waffle. It was a little pricey, but the hotels give a BOGO free coupon which makes it more worth it. All in all, we had a good experience and would go again if we are in the area.
Hotel offered buy 1 get one free breakfast so we gave it a try. Full service buffet staff fixes plates at buffet. Line moved quickly. Buffet line and surrounding glass appeared very clean. Staff was pleasant and efficient. Food was good, nothing fancy - just what you'd expect at a breakfast buffet.
Let me start by saying the food was okay. Nothing special but not terrible. The place is full of international exchange students which isn't an awful thing until you have one who decides she will assist the person infront of you who was white, then skip you and go to the person behind you..who was also white it's a full service buffet. At first I thought, it was accidental but then my sister who went in line at a completely different time from me had the same experience. We are not white and she was...so the assumption is that it has something to do with race but can't say that conclusively. When we were in line to pay we mentioned to the manager or the older woman at the front that one of the buffet line service workers was quite rude to which she responded with "okay". There was no attempt to inquire about why or what happened. At that point I went outside and took the attached picture so I could post this review. After seeing this, the manager proceeded to come outside to take a picture of my rental car. Lol. What for...who knows. I went in to tell her I took the pic so I could post a review and not sure why she needed a picture of the car I was driving and she says "it's public info" and that if I post a review she would post a rebuttal. Okayyy Then she proceeds to tell me that Biance is an exchange student and she probably didn't understand what I was saying and that I look like someone who likes to cause trouble. I then responded and said she didn't ask me what happened and that there was no conversation with this chick at all....she simply skipped me and then my sister. She just stood there laughing with the exchange students and said nothing. Mind you this is also a place with 40 trashy hand written signs about which door people should use. My sister carried a sleeping baby in a heavy car seat in and because there was a huddle of people waiting to be seated, at the entrance door, we went in through the exit explaining that we already had a table and the people were blocking the entrance and she made a snarky remark about rules being in place for a reason. So basically be aware that this place isn't family or baby friendly and is not understanding towards new moms. Also, be aware that there may be some racists hidden among the staff. So long Toast A-Go-Go...we will surely choose a classier place in the future.
There's not many breakfast options in Mackinaw City, so this spot fit the bill. Fast, friendly service. Food is average. Pricey for what you get, but again, limited options in town so they can charge higher. But the thing that cracked me up was that despite being buffet style, and despite the name of the restaurant, there was not a slice of toast to be found! Biscuits yes, no toast. At least not on Saturday. Amused.
