Finally got around to eating here and I was underwhelmed by the flavors. Nothing really jumped out as an amazing flavor. The food, like Burns St Bistro, is locally sourced, which was cool. The vibe of the place and people were nice. Still, we would have spent $30 for a sandwich, a small quesadilla, chips with salsa and small cup of guacamole & a veggie tamale. The best among them was the salsa and chips. Everything else wasn't memorable. I'm giving it a 3-star rating because I appreciate they locally source food and hope some of the meat items might have been better.
If you have taste buds that like flavor over heat this is the place. Large amount of gluten free and vegetarian choices. Great service. Very rustic atmosphere. Food is delightfully complex and we'll prepared. This is only my second visit. There will be many more!
Seven Chile pork tamale was unique. The masa had a good flavor and consistency. Pork was pretty good. I could gave done without the garnish as it took away from the yummy masa flavor. It could have used more chillies too because the spice factor was nonexistent. Bonus points for the Piña Habanero sauce in a bottle Also charging for chips and salsa seems to be a thing 'round these parts so don't expect any freebies. Overall the food is good but you pay similar prices to a Rick Bayless restaurant. And a Rick Bayless restaurant this is not. Look up Topolobampo There's some charm in the homemade tortillas and locally sourced ingredients however it's best to remember you're in Montana when trying this Mexican food.
Best tacos in town. This is a great place to eat. They should make an incense of the smell of the place. Awesome food. So glad we found this hidden treasure.
Finally some creative Mexican food in Missoula. Quite a variety of items using local ingredients. Try the Mexican Street chicken, take some home or the tamales, which they are already famous for. The pupusas are good and can't be found anywhere else in town.
Love the food I always go there tamales are my favorite if you have not gone there you need to go there it’s sooo good!!!
It was awful, everything!! The service was bad the lady at the register was Kind of mad to have to be Wearing a face mask which was not my fault. But I thought well if the food is good is Worth it The food was terrible! I asked for a pozole what as a Mexican I can tell you that is not pozole I don’t know what it was but it was not. I understand when Mexican food change the original Recipe for the American market but this Customization was terrible. If someday you wanna try good and Authentic pozole go to Albertsons to the Mexican aisle and buy I can of pozole. Warm it up and serve with radishes and Lettuce. Super easy, cheap And you won’t have to put up with rude service.
The food is bomb! I had the pineapple pork tacos with a side of frijoles charros with the pineapple habanero and red sauce. Everything was really good. This is a great place to go if you want to support a locally owned business. One important thing to note is that the ingredients are locally sourced and with anything that is locally sourced and organic it’s always going to be a bit more pricey but it is worth it!
Yesterday my husband and I had lunch here for the first time. We thought the quality was good, better than most places, and the flavors were good... not exceptional, but again better than most other places. The main reason we will not be back is because they charge entree prices for a tapas size portion. My husband left hungry... and when you pay $22.00 for 2 people, you don't want to leave hungry. My husband got the chicken mole tamale with beans, which was really small. My husband gave it a 5 out of 10 on flavor. I got the chicken quarter with slaw and beans and 2 tortillas, which was a decent size entree. I gave it a 7 out of 10 on flavor. My husband left hungry and had to go to the good food store and get pizza afterward.
So good!!! Excellent food, great atmosphere, over priced and small portions. We have eaten here numerous times and will again, but at the current pricing and portion size, we won't be able to frequent this establishment. What ever happened to Mexican food being inexpensive? $6 for a very small tamale and $4 for a little taco.
