Very nice staff and excellent wi-fi appreciate!. Food is OK. Very limited choices. The day I went all they had were breakfast wraps and bacon breakfast sandwiches -- but I was really looking for a full breakfast.
If you are visiting Port McNeil, Tia's Cafe is a must visit place. The moment you enter, you greeted with a great smile by the friendliest faces on the planet. They arguably have the best coffee in Port McNeil, but they definitely have the best vibe on the whole island. The tidiness and the cleanliness is spot on perfect. The design of the place is contemporary with a hint of fun. First Nations decorations add an extra depth to the character of the place. I would definitely recommend to visit, time and time again.
My daughter and I were coming back from Alert Bay enroute to Courtenay. We both really wanted a hot beverage arrived at Tias at 4 just as she was closing. She welcomed us in and gave us our hot beverages, how incredibly sweet
The food was poor. Eggs were tough and dry, the pancake was crisp outside and kind of custardy inside. Our group ordered fried eggs with pancakes, scrambled eggs with french toast, scrambled eggs with hash browns, and an omelet. No one really liked the food and it took about an hour for it to come out of the kitchen. Prices were too high, even for good diner food.
A fantastic cafe. Tia's Cafe serves great coffee, tea, small bites sandwiches, chicken fingers, breakfast sandwiches and salads, desserts and baked goods. They also have a selection of Mexican grocery items and apparel.
My kids and I walked over to check Tia's out on a Friday visit to Port McNeill. The hours online say 5pm, we got there at 3:50 and were told they were closing in 10 minutes and that's why the lights were off. We couldn't even get Nanaimo bars or other baked goods - which was the point of our stop. Definitely pretty disappointing.
Ok food. The simple french fries and deep fried kind. Not much privacy. You can hear everything everyone else is saying. Seems to be a lot of young kids running around and screaming. More than any other place we have visited. Wifi ok. French fries are quite tasty.
If your in Port MacNeil this is where the locals go for breakfast. Outstanding coffee made on one those fancy machines served by smiling staff that seem to love to be run off their feet. Full breakfast available until noon and everyone I saw was having a big breakfast and smiling contentedly. Finding a d3c2nt cup of tea on the road is not always easy but my Dad reports that the tea and toast were as good or better than he makes at home.
For me personally the food was pretty good. It's a cozy n simple diner. Food is decent, fresh ingredients are used which is a huge plus in my books. Price wise is quite reasonable for what you pay for which is quality food, nothing processed and in house made. You can't have cheap deals and quality ingredients. Also service is quite observant and friendly.
I ordered the BLT on special. There was only one slice of tomato on it! The seasoning on the fries was no good at all and to finish it off my last sip of coffee was full of grounds! I can safely say I will never come back.
