Food was delicious and filling, whiskey was a bit overpriced and servers really never checked on us. It was a dead Thursday night. With like 5 or 6 people including me and my buddy. Cool designed bar. Overall pretty good. $40 for 2 Jameson and cokes and a burger and fries plus a 15% tip.
Very good beer and food.great thank you
We have not been to the Thirst Duck Pub for a few years, having stopped going because of mediocre food quality. We had heard that the food was improved, so gave it a chance, but it proved to be worst than before. I ordered the Thai Prawn rice bowl, and my wife ordered the ginger beef, both dishes totally lack any sense of flavour. The vegetable portion seemed fresh and crisp enough, but the meat portion was totally lacking in seasoning, and there was no sauce to speak of. Just dry rice with vegetables and some pre-packaged seafood or beef stirred in. The waitress was relieved to see the Sysco Food Service truck pulling in, maybe the missing flavours were on it, certainly was not on our plates. The service was adequate and the atmosphere was acceptable, but the cook needs to go back to school. Update: I went back reluctantly for a LL baseball team fund raiser, was again very disappointed in the food, service and staff attitude, not going back.
I ordered the poutine which turned out to be a bunch of fries in a soup of gravy with almost no cheese curds. I asked for more and said I was even happy to pay for them and the waitress went back to check and the chef said no. Um, what? It was incredibly weird. Bad poutine and bad customer service.
Havent been to the duck in a long time because of unfavourable experiences in the past. Decided to check it out now that it was under new management. They served my beer in a plastic cup; made me feel like I was at a keg party, and the wings were okay. Easily the best wing night deal in Castlegar, but I think I'll pay a bit more for quality elsewhere.
Food was good, service was good but it took a long time to get our meal the night we were there.
The food was ok the service not that great but considering local options this is the best of what's available
I love it here. Friendly servers who truly do a great job. The service is fast and the food is good. It feels like home!!
Love the crispy chicken wrap. I honestly have it once a week. ask for the dill sauce instead of the honey mustard in the wrap. I'm addicted to their dill sauce!
The service is excellent and the girls always keep me laughing. The food is always great and the cold beer and prices keep us coming back.
