Outstanding restaurant with expert choices from a sommelier. We took the Carte Blanche option on the menus which includes a 7 cours meal and we added the wine pairing for each course. The experience was fantastic! Special thank you to our sommelier Samuel he was awesome and knows he's wine. The restaurant only works with fresh Quebec's ingredients and does it with great imagination and care for detail. Everything from the sauces to the deserts are homemade with a touch of their own. With a changing menu fitted to every season in accord with the available ingrediens of the moment, you are always surprised by their ingenuity. From classic dishes with a touch of renew to creative techniques of their own everthing is polished to the last detail. Their wine are all personally imported every week by the sommelier in accord with the menu and have an amazing variety of cocktais. If you want the experience of a Montreal gastronomic restaurant without the downsides of traffic and finding parking, it is the place to go. I really think it is the best restaurant to go for this year !
EDIT after going there 3 times 3 weeks Ina row: after drinking Le Moulin the first 2 times, decreasing the cocktail size by 2 third and increasing the price by 1$ per glass is a bit inflated and not subtile at all. David the waiter is just amazing but if you lose your asset, you will be just be an overrated restaurant. Food seems steady in quantity and quality though. But will be reconsidering going back given the amount of new restaurant openings... I have never been to a place that would deserve more than 5 stars.....until tonight!! Not only was the food quality top notch, fresh and hot, but client service was above and beyond!!! Cocktails are amazingly good, food was delicious and our waiter was the best one I have ever had the chance to have. This is 100% wheelchair accessible which is even better! Would recommend 2000 times!....and would definitely go back soon!
What a surprise experience. Such a pretty decorated resto, we notice the attention to detail! Went for Friday had a lunch table d'hôte. Had the best beef carpaccio as appetizer. Then tried the pasta dish with pulled pork, fresh ingredients!
The BEEEESSSST blueberry pan cake you will ever try in this entire universe. no kidding. This beautifully renovated resto deserves nothing less than a 5star for its ambiance, great food and great service. Martin our waiter was super friendly and was on point with everything. def recommend everyone to try their pancake with blueberry ice cream. just mind blowing. good job on this great plate. we also had the Benedict egg with salmon. loved every bite. next time you go, you will prob see me siting down with my bbpancake. hello!
Love this place! Food is amazing, cocktails are equally delicious and so are the wines of course! Great ambiance as well.
Smauel, our waiter was amazing he clearly memorized the menu and was able to guide us through everything and found us a great wine. The decor and the little details showed in this new establishment. The food was well priced according to what you got. The fresh crudo tartar was so light, refreshing and well balanced. The mains were Cod and Steak + Fries. The Cod was perfectly cooked along with the sauce that melted in your mouth and the accompaniments made for a nice harmony and well balanced dish. It's surprising how many restaurants or so called "steak houses" can't get a steak frite right, they were able to simplify it and actually bring us back to the French classics! The steak melted in the mouth, the fries were cut and fried to perfection, the sauce vin rouge brought it all together and the little homemade mayo on the side was perfect! For dessert pana cotta was well executed however the flavouring they used was slight overpowering the other elements in the dish but was still very delightful. Thank you to all the staff and all the hard work you put in, it shows! Keep going, I can't wait to come back again! 4.9/5
It was a unique experience. Great attention to detail. A true testament of passion for the culinary arts. Freshly made pasta. Love the location.
Went twice, both times the service was amazing, definitely 5 stars for that part. Attentive staff ! The dishes were good with beautiful presentation but I felt they lacked contrast and originality. Most were pretty one note and lacked acidity. Lots of salty on salty on salty or rich on rich on rich and nothing to cut through it. It becomes a bit hard to eat the whole dish and makes the dishes out of balance. To me in the end, it lacked a bit of attention and refinement, but we still had a good time both times. In the end though, I’m not sure if I would return.
I would give 6 stars if I could, this is a wonderful restaurant. I cannot find anything wrong to say. The decor, the ambiance, the service, the cocktails, the food, the wine, the furniture, the glassware, the cutlery; everything was on point. I recommend sitting at the bar for an excellent service by Megan.
