A wonderful address in Frankfort. Great selection of wines and delicious dishes. We had the apricot chicken, the shrimp&grits and the braised beef: they were all comforting, rich and sophisticated in taste. The service & the ambience were excellent. A must-try.Recommended dishes
We just had a phenomenal dinner at The Wine Thief! The foccacia bread and infused oil was the perfect starter. Tonight's special was a 25 day dry aged strip steak that melts in your mouth....yummmm! The sides were amazing also...braised mustard greens and sweet corn bread pudding. Service was fantastic. We'll certainly be back because there is so much on the menu we can't wait to try!
Our 1st Women For State Representative Evans outing, we attended the Wine Festival on this past Sunday! We had a wonderful and fantastic Wine Tasting Experience! Thank you to Ed, his wife & staff for making our outing one to remember and look forward to the next one. The venue was absolutely beautiful!
The menu is continually expanding, most everything is good here, food wise. We’ve tried about everything at this point. Wines are unique and so is the food. The Sangria is fantastic and the frozen frose’ drink is pretty good also, a little tart for my taste. The individual pizzas are also quite tasty. Great outdoor seating too!
We try to wait at least three visits before we post a review and we love this place. Initially recommended by a family member we had to visit. We are creatures of habit and once we find a place we like, we make it part of our routine. The Wine Thief checks all the boxes we look for - great staff Kelly and Nick have been great along with others, one of the best wine lists we have seen since Tin Fish in Tinley closed, great shrimp and polenta among other dishes, and really good wine and mixed drinks. By the way, you have to try the Burrata and the house made soups!!!!! We were surprised how much is made in-house when most others order through general food services. Hands down a regular stop for us now.
We ate dinner in one of the outdoor igloos and it was wonderful. We made the reservation for Igloo A and the whole experience made for the perfect night. Our server was Donna and she was the perfect amount of attentive but gave us privacy. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was very knowledgeable about the menu options and helped us through our decisions based on our likes. The food was exceptional and the portions did not disappoint. The apricot chicken was juicy and the smashed potatoes were great. I even took a salad to go for lunch today and the apple and fig combo was delightful! Vegetarian options: Menu is clearly notated for dietary restrictions Parking: Ample parking
We had 7:45 New Year eve reservations. Upon arriving we were greeted and seated quickly. The drinks on the New Year eve menu were very good and well made. We ordered the goat cheese dip off the menu and the chicken flat bread off the New Years menu. The flat bread had good flavor, but the jalapeño slice on each slice over powered the rest of the flavor. We had 1/2 of our dip left. The waitress said she will get us more bigots. Those never showed up. We made our dinner selections off the New Years menu which only consisted of 2 dinner plates. The lobster and sea bass. The waitress replied we are sold out. Disappointed we deferred the their 4 dinner options. They were also out of the steak filet. Which left only 3 options. We settled for 2 beef tenderloin and chicken dinner. We received our dinner, our presentation was fair. It turns out the green beans were under cooked, the cabbage, carrots were cooked but cold, the potatoes were cold. The waitress finally came back and we explained the issues. She then summoned her boss. She apologized and stated that they were over sold and they are more like a drink and appetizers place. Wow really we had a great dinner here before. This place is 30 minutes from us and was such a disappointment. There are many options along the way for drinks and appetizers. We will never be back.
Such a great place! I love their patio!! One of the best charcuterie boards around!! Service is always friendly and prompt! Definitely a must if you haven't been here!
My boyfriend and I went here recently for dinner. The food was delicious! We had the bruschetta as an appetizer way better than your average bruschetta and Apricot Chicken + Braised Beef for entrees. The ingredients and sides were well paired with the dishes, so much mouth-watering flavor in these entrees. They were generous portions, we were full without feeling incredibly full. I have a sensitive stomach and did not feel gross after finishing my entire entree. You can tell the quality of food is fresh and good. We also did the “Old World Vs. New World” Dry white wine flight. The presentation was super cute, a four-stem tiered flight with decent pours of domestic + international white wines. Service was friendly and prompt. Overall, we would gladly come back and recommend The Wine Thief Bistro. It is located in downtown Frankfort which is adorable so you can always walk around to check out shops or other bars afterwards, too.
Great food great wine. They have specialty cocktails during different seasons. The patio is great for spring summer and in early fall if you are not sitting by the two heating lamps it might be a little cold if the weather drops. The inside tables get snapped up quickly so reservations are recommended specially weekends.Food: 4/5
