We were very surprised at the quality of the food we had in this restaurant. It was excellent! We had read the reviews on line that were not very good but my sister wanted to try it anyway. We ordered four dishes and all of them were delicious. I don't know what the problem was that made other diners rate the restaurant so low. I will go back again. The restaurant is clean, service was excellent and the food we had was delicious. The location isn't great if you are not in the Casino. But if you go to play or to a show than you should try it.
The food was fine but on the pricey side. The wait staff were attentive though their English was lacking. What I do take issue was the loud conversation in Chinese between the staff themselves and with some possibly visiting friends. At one point the talking was so loud between a male and a waitress at the table right beside us that I asked the male to keep it down. He took offence and mouthed back at me. I talked to the manager who was apologitic but said it was beyond their control and also blame it on culture, implying Chinese people tend to be loud. Well,this is fine if I were dining at a greasy spoon in China Town but I was paying over $30 for a dish in Casino Rama. If he cannot control a member of the public who was rude he certainly can exercise authority over his own staff and ask them not to yell among themselves in Chinese. All this is not to take away the attentiveness the staff displayed. Just that they have to realize they are working in a higher end restaurant and customers like to be able to hear themselves think!
On January 30/18 we went to Rama and had a fantastic time, after about 6 hours we went for dinner at the Willow restaurant, and unfortunately it was the worst Chinese food we have ever experienced, both the lemon chicken and General Toa chicken was NOT edible, it was dry any hard with little flavor, in fact we spoke to the manger and he could care less, we only ate a few pieces from the plates and returned about 90% of the balance. No refund was offered or apology just here’s the check. Mark
We were seated and watched other people who came in after us get their food before us. 1st time I had like warm wanton soup. The noodles were burnt, and the server took his time to bring our food. I barely touched the food as it tasted gross. Never again.
Will never eat at this place again. Very expensive and ordered some chicken balls that where overcooked with little pieces of chicken that was dry and they where mostly batter. Got charged for 4 spring rolls but only had 2 spring rolls. Save your money and go elsewhere to eat!! No I didn't get it reversed. The way they did things was they had 3 couples who weren't together sitting at the same table and they just put the food on the table and nobody had any idea who's was who's. Will never go back!
The food was great and the service was top notch. We were running late for a show and concierge made sure we got seated and our food served quickly so not to miss the show. Very friendly and professional service by him and our waiter.
Love this place. Fantastic food at its buffet. But - buffet dinner opening times totally confusing. Last I heard: we are open at 5 pm on concert nights. How the heck do I know what nights are concert nights? Not stated anywhere in or around casino. And the rest of the week at 6 pm. Please fix this. So annoying. We will visit casino tomorrow and if you are not open at 5 pm we will all have to go to the really bad other buffet.
It was horrible. Ordered multiple items hoping for an enjoyable meal before concert. Server did not speak english with us but understand what i wanted to order hmmmm.. We only ate the first course the soup everything eles five additiional items were not eaten. Most expensive meal ive ordered and never ate. DO NOT EAT HERE SAVE YOUR MONEY
Service was ok but the food was disgusting. It smelled bad and tasted worse. I couldn’t even swallow the first bite of chicken. There was bone in my won ton soup. Our bill was just under $70.
Service was good but probably the worst Chinese food I’ve had. Maybe this is normal in this rural area, but if you’re used to any authenticity found in the Toronto area then you will definitely be disappointed. Definitely stick to the other restaurants or even Tim Hortons.
