Great location and decor with some nice clean food for brunch. Outdoor patio area is nicely heated. Very comfortable, classy, and non-rushed environment to chat in. Freshly squeezed orange juice and coffee were nice. Only criticism I would give is that the service staff could be a little more polished a fluid. The entire restaurant was empty and we were not rushed to leave but they seemed to want to clear the food very quickly. I believe service will get better with time.
This is a really cool spot with an awesome view and a must if in Calgary. Here’s the good: service is top notch as it should be, cocktails are awesome, the Nova Scotia oysters are wow, the food presentation is beautiful, the “Modern” dessert you must have. The needs improvement: although food presentation is gorgeous it does need fine tuning, some of it was a little over done. Maybe focus more on the flavor and preparation than on presentation. And the lights need to dimmed half way, otherwise we did enjoy our two dinner’s there
When I was invited to an event at The Wilde, I had no idea what to expect. But from the moment I stepped off the elevator, I was breathless! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a keen attention to detail that couldn't all be taken in at once. A cozy lounge and intimate dining room, with a delightful balance between modern and classic decor. The tasting menu was stunning! With selections to fit any palate. A beet tartar amuse-bouche, elk tartar starter, apple-pomegranate sorbet palate-cleanser, Alberta beef tenderloin medallion with sweetmeats, and dessert simply called "Fruit" that was anything but simple. Everything else looked amazing, but those were my selections, and they paired wonderfully with the evening's feature: Alberta Distiller's Reifel Rye Whisky. An amazing evening from start to finish. Thank you to everyone who made it special.
Wonderful dining experience. Calgary doesn’t have a lot of fine dining places so it was a pleasant experience having dinner here. Rabbit and Scallop appetizers were delicious, as were the beef and bison mains. Perfectly tender meat, well paired with the sides. Pleasantly surprised with the carrots pickled but not soft and to top it all off the service was absolutely spectacular. Shout out to Marvin for making the dinner a wonderful time. Prompt, knowledgeable and friendly. Will definitely be coming back.
We went to The Wilde for my friend's mini bday celebration and we had a great time. We started out at the patio area for appetizers and cocktails and it was great! We ordered mushrooms, oysters, elk tartare for a start. We transferred inside to the main dining area and ordered Halibut and Quail for our mains. I had the halibut but it was a bit salty. We had a surprise bday dessert and it was so yummy! It think it was called Modern, which had chocolate mousse inside. We ordered other desserts like the Carrot Cheese Cake and Textures of Chocolate. Our server named Denice or Denise was exceptional with how attentive she was. She was so knowledgeable with the menu, explained everything which made it easy for us to decide on what to order. Such a delight to be served by her! Every fine dining or any type of restaurant must have a server like her. Overall we had a pleasant dining experience! Thanks again for an exceptional customer service Denice, keep up the great work!!
Very lovely place. Service was on point--very attentitive. I loved their cheesecake dessert, every element just perfect! Atmosphere was nice, great aesthetic choice, but a touch too bright for the ambiance I think it should be going for.Food: 5/5
Been twice now. The first time was about a week after they opened, and it wasn’t the best experience. The server was very nice, the food was good, but everything took FOREVER. Kinda killed the vibe. But, I decided to give it another try a couple of weeks later, and it was a much more enjoyable experience. The food was really great, and the service and drinks timely. Between the amuse bouche, the palate cleanser, the after-dinner fancy bon bon, and the descriptive way the server presented each dish we ordered, it really was the experience that I was hoping for. Will be going back for sure. One small criticism: I’m not sure if it was just a one-off, but the veggies that came with the bison short rib I believe beets, carrots, and another root veg were very hard…almost raw. Hopefully that’s been rectified.
Food was intricately thought of and flow of service was exceptional! Our server Denise was very knowledgeable of the menu and was able to assist us with every question and anticipated our needs.
This was our second time dinning here, the first experience was good overall - the food was great, service was average. Last nights visit was a different experience all together, for the better! First, the food was exceptional. The chef had prepared a feature for the evening - Beef Wellington. My wife & I talked about it the whole ride home! The chef also came to the table to plate it and chat with the table, which was a nice touch. As for the service, they’ve obviously gone to great lengths to elevate this and it shows. I was a bit reluctant to write this review because we secretly want this place to be a hidden gem, and fear reservations will become a hot commodity.
Went with my Fiancé to celebrate our Anniversary and ohh boy!! Its one of a kind experience! Our server MARVIN is the best! Very passionate and kind. The way he accommodated us very genuine. Hes got a warm smile and really helped us a lot specially with our orders and request. You’ve got yourself a very rare kind of guy!! Let’s not forget the amazing view!! We loved the ambiance and the “instagram worthy” view. The City lights and the tall buildings were astonishing!! Also had the best medium rare steak!! paired with the bone marrow! We will definitely be back! Thank you for making our celebration memorable!
