Its my wife Birthday today so I took her to Wilcox, its one of our favorite restarant. It has great vibe, customer service very attentive, and the food is always top quality. I definitely recommand this.nnWe order:nnAppetizersnnHalf Dozen OysternnTamarind Ribs Bao Buns - Tamarind spare ribs, cucumber sambal slaw, crispy garlicnnTartar & Marrow - Flat iron, yuzu kosho, Kewpie mayo, shallots, chives, confit garlic, marrow butter, sourdough.nnEntreennConfit Duck - Crispy duck leg, ginger, garlic, bok choy, mushrooms, sambal, mirin, sesame, tamari, shio tamami.nnDesertnnPumpkin Pie Pot De Creme -Feuilletine, walnut praline, pumpkin seed brittle.nnThai Tea Cheese Cake - Thai basil, toasted coconut.
We came on a Saturday with our small dog and they were nice enough to accommodate and see us outside on a lovely patio lounge. It was very comfortable. We ordered the fish and chips which was a staple here along with the roast. Chicken quality was on point, tasted amazing. We even got a chance to see a lot of butterflies hovering around us on the bushes. The waiter Robbie was very nice and when we paid for the bill the sparkling water was on the house.
Loved our experience here. Attentive staff, delicious food, great menu, interesting interior. It was a bit cold so would prefer a cozier interior. We will definitely come back!
So note: they charge $5 per person for a cake cutting fee. I've never heard of such an aggressive fee structure for cake cutting. They didn't nothing fancy for the cake cutting as well, it was just nominal service.nnThat aside:nn1. I wasn't expecting to deshell the crab, it was honestly not a fun experience for a pasta course. The taste was overall salty, and the crab had no seasoning so it didn't taste that great.n2. The bread and butter: they make the bread in house, which is nice. The butter didn't have much flavor and brought down the overall experience.n3. Server was nice and attentive, thank you to her :
Came to Wilcox with my partner.nHad an amazing experience.nOur server Anna was awesome!nGot the burger which was really good.nPartner got the steak and frites which was also pretty good. It was a little more cooked than he wanted. Asked for medium but got medium well.nOther than that, was great!nDrinks were good. Got the Spanish coffee and the sangria.
