Oldest restaurant in Michigan This place is so unique, so many different rooms to eat in and a great patio for Michigan evening dining. The general store back in the day has been renovated and delightfully decorated to be the White Horse Inn. The patio is a wonderful place to enjoy a conversation with friends under the blue umbrellas or by the bonfire pit. The food and service were great. A little bit of options and variety for everyone. Mac and cheese, salads, chili, fish is what basked at our table. The orchard salad, comes as a side size or full size, is recommended with the maple vinegar dressing. Check out all the unique rooms, and the upstairs can be a banquet hall for all the large gatherings.
Been around since the 1850s and it’s very well maintained and decorated. Wife’s bucket list and we had a very nice late lunch with kids and grands. Staff was helpful and friendly. We ordered pretzels and spinach artichoke dip for appetizers. Generous portions of both. I had the potato chip crusted walleye. Nice portion and very tasty. We live on the west side of the state, so it was a destination for us, but well worth it.
Wow, drove 45 minutes to this place and worth every second. Beautiful place inside and out. We were seated in one of the outdoor igloos Llama Igloo that was warm, nicely set and a nice exclusive feel to it with our party of 6. We ordered the Cigar Box Malbec, a Mac and cheese shared appetizer. Both were great. Our group ordered 5 different meals, All were full of flavor and amazingly hot even though we were severe outside in our igloo. This place is stared on my map and we will be back. Forgot to mention it was my wife’s birthday. They brought out fresh baked cookies that were hot and delicious.
Discovered this wonderful restaurant while visiting Metamora. Outstanding atmosphere inside. So much to take in. Loved the flooring and horse memorabilia. Incredible outdoor dining area, too. Super busy during the Hot Air Balloon Feast, but was seated quickly. Food was reasonable. Good size portions and it was very good. Pot Roast entree was excellent and if you're hungry, I highly recommend it. Waitstaff was friendly and restaurant was clean. Beautiful flowers outside. Definitely recommend White Horse Inn.
Very nice atmosphere. There are tables inside and out. Had the French onion soup. This was very good. It had a spice I don't normally taste in French onion soup but tasted great. Had the roast beef grilled cheese sandwich. It was good but needed something like sour cream/horseradish sauce to dip into. The staff was kind and attentive. Beverages were kept full. The onion dip and chips were very good.
Beautiful place. Full of history. Food was not bad, but I had expected better for the price. Slightly above diner level, I’d say. B minus for service. The beautiful bathrooms were dirty. Visit once. Not for food or service, but for the piece of history that’s left behind.
Loved the overall atmosphere and beautiful wood floors. Customer service was terrific being very polite and helpful. Ordered the spinach artichoke appetizer and it was fantastic! Wife loved the wines and her tomato soup and salad. I ordered the ribeye steak with baked potato and vegetables; the whole reason for only 3 stars was the steak had no flavor at all was by far the blandest steak I’ve ever had. It was cooked perfect at medium rare and was a nice size but the taste has to be there.
Delicious food and wonderful service. Our waitress was an excellent server and our baby just loved her. Visited again today and everything was delicious as always. Had a minor hiccup with one of our meals coming out quite a bit later than the rest but mistakes happen and it wasn't a big deal and they made it right so we were still very happy overall.
absolutely beautiful, always been one of my favorite nice restaurants to go to. Fish and chips are to die for as well as the house made kettle chips. Dessert is a MUST it is so divine and the chocolate chip cookies are a lovely classic. I highly recommend coming, staff is always nice and the ambiance is so pleasant
First time here. Took SIL to celebrate her birthday. Had a wonderful time! Relaxed, quiet, country atmosphere. Moderately busy on an early Saturday afternoon. "Craig" was excellent as our server, but several staff checked on us and brought items. Like a well oiled team. Food was all amazingly good. SIL tends to be easily disappointed and commented it was THE BEST dinner she could remember! YAY!! Prices were a bit on the high side, BUT, portions were VERY generous and quality was outstanding, and we left with enough food for a second meal at home. Overall very reasonably priced. A bit of a drive for us, but it will definitely be a go to venue for future celebrations! Parking: Spacious
