We stayed at the Wells Hotel for one night and were pleasantly surprised when we were told our room was an updated room. The hotel staff were friendly, the space and our room were clean and very cute. I appreciated the mix of history and modern in the room. The fixtures, furniture, and paint were updated but there were nice little touches of gold to compliment the mining heritage of the town and beautiful paintings from a local artist to showcase its beautiful arts history. The pub had good food and great selection of drinks. All in all we had a wonderful stay and would stay again.
This is the perfect place to stay during an off the beaten path adventure. Clean, quiet, great service, architecturally and historically interesting building seriously, you could hang out for a couple hours just staring at the fireplaces. Breakfast is simple but the coffee is great and the pub seems lively we didnt get the chance to try it sadly. If sitting at a beach in 40 degree heat with smoke filled skies isn't your thing, detour north to Wells and you won't be disappointed. Well worth the drive.
I had a pleasant stay at the Wells Hotel in March. The hotel rates were very reasonable. The food and drink in the pub was very good. The room was clean and very comfortable. I brought my dog with me and my room had plenty of room for her kennel. Complimentary continental breakfast was included and lots of hot coffee was available as well. Overall I had a great stay and will be back.
The wells hotel is the best! The staff are so friendly and helpful, the hotel is very clean and well kept, they even have a pub on site with freshly made dinner options! 100% recommend staying at the hotel or stopping for a drink/dinner if you are in the area, you won’t be disappointed!Rooms: 5/5
Very nice for an older hotel - loved the original architecture. Staff is friendly and helpful No TV, air conditioning or blow dryer - cool enough at night to sleep. Limited menu - access to food in the town in general is very limited.Rooms: 4/5
We had dinner at the pub and it was… disappointing to say the least. Our table of 4 ordered Nachos over cooked and almost no toppings, chicken strips rubbery, the stir fry so much sauce it was like soup and a burger that was actually enjoyed. The only vegan option is that stir fry and it was terrible. Its 2023 and it’s so strange when restaurants don’t have more than one vegan item and it’s sad when that one item isn’t very good. This isn’t the 90’s - catch up, haha. 3 out of 4 meals weren’t good and with 75% of our table being so bad, I wouldn’t recommend eating here.
The room I had served it purpose well. The presence of a hot tub was unexpected outside on the upper level. The staff was nice and the pub is always a hit.Rooms: 4/5
Service was excellent, rooms are quaint, it's an older building. Pre season and new management made for a slimmed down menu but I think this will be a treat once fully set for the summer.Service: 5/5
Great historic hotel. Don't expect all the modern conveniences from high end hotels however it has great charm and wonderful staff.Rooms: 5/5
