This is a nice store with a huge variety to hit all your Vermont-touristy needs, from foods such as maple and cheese, to soaps and clothing! One thing to keep in mind that despite the small-town-general-store feel and a decent assortment of Vermont-and-USA-made products, not everything is made locally. The imported goods are mixed in with the local ones, so if you care about that, you need to read carefully. For instance, a lot of the clothing is still made in China and India, but they do sell a few brands like coats from Johnson's Woolen Mills made in Vermont.)

This is a fun place to poke around. Kids of all ages will enjoy the toys. Around each turn you'll exclaim "I remember this!" A modern take on the General Store, which tries to keep to its 1946 roots while catering to 21st century buyers. Plenty of housewares and hard to find items from bygone days. Lots of warm wool and flannel. Enjoy a sandwich made on Orem, they e en have a pickle barrel! And hand cut VT cheddar cheese.

I could spend hours in here, they have everything you can think of and want and things you had no idea you wanted until you see them. And a few days before Christmas we stopped in to get a last minute gift and the staff was so helpful, because we just wanted to make it a quick trip and not get sidetracked, because I easily do. My last visit here we were here for hours and spent a pretty penny. But everything that we bought for ourselves went to good use and the gifts we have bought in the past and recently have always gone over well. I hope to be able to make it here next time when it isn't so busy and spend more time.

A MUST visit! This place was a great hour of great fun! Sooooo many good samples! The cheese and dips and fudge and knickknacks! So much great fun! Tons of kids running around having a blast. We were there much longer than expected and loved every second. Old style penny candy and lots of maple syrup to try and buy. If you’re in the area you should absolutely check this place out!

The Vermont country store is one of my favorite places to visit in Vermont. Love to see the products I see in the catalog in person. Kids love to try the toys I remember having or wanting as a kid. Have lots of other interesting products and lots of food samples to try. Great to try all the cheeses. Found lots of things I can’t get other places.
