Went today to bring an Amazon return back- it was all packaged, I had the QR code from Amazon and this should have been an easy thing. I arrived at 3:45 pm and as posted on the website and door, the store closes at 4:00 pm. In the time it took me to get from my car to the door literally 10 feet, the worker locked the door. Someone who was sitting in their car told me what had just happened. I decided to wait as there was a customer inside and no signage indicated the store was closing early. While waiting, another person joined me outside waiting. When the other customer was finished, the worker came to let them out and legitimately barked out, "We're closed! I lock the door at 3:55 pm!" I checked the time, and it was 3:53 pm and told him that, especially since I had been outside waiting. He decided to let us in but went on a rant about how people need to stop waiting until the last minute and get to the UPS Store earlier instead of going all over and having fun first. He also stated that this was going to make him work overtime now and he needed to leave at 4:00 pm and the owner doesn't like him working overtime either. As someone who has worked customer service and retail jobs for over 20 years, this is NEVER something to share with a customer. Humanizing yourself is one thing, but yelling at customers and then ranting about them is another thing entirely. I once had someone pry open the exit-only doors to get into where I worked AFTER we were closed because they wanted to shop, so while I was there at the end of the day, I made sure I was there before they closed and didn't have a difficult transaction. The man working could care less about anyone else and while I have no idea what his day was like, he also has no idea what mine or any other customer's was like either. Further, if you're going to lock your door or need to leave right at closing time, post a sign saying such. Even a sign that says you serve your last customer at xxx time before closing. After reading reviews, it seems this is a common behavior and not just a once-off, so I will be making sure to go to any other location instead of this one in the future.
They are incredibly slow. I finally got to the counter and they did everything the could to try to convince me to go to the post office instead. Finally, he asked me to check the address and make sure he typed it correctly. He didn't so I corrected his two mistakes. However, he insisted he couldn't change the address because their system wouldn't let them. Why ask me to proof read the address then? Ended up having to go to the post office anyway.
Terrible customer service. Called ahead to verify I could have something notarized. Guy made excuses as to why he’s there but I’d probably have to wait if he didn’t have any help come in to the store. When I arrived there were 2 people working and I was only the 3rd customer in the store. The guy who was a notary said I’d have to wait an hour since he hadn’t had lunch yet. I left and brought my business over to FedEx instead.
The old man in the store was very rude. I needed to very information for a job and UPS was the closed to verify. I waited in line then it was my turn and I told him I had an appointment. He said to go wait over there. Then he took the next customer instead of helping me. He was very rude and I told him I was hearing impaired as I had to have him repeat himself and he just groaned and waved his hand at me. This was the way for the entire 7-8 minutes. Terrible experience.
Older gentleman working there is super rude. Has been in the past, but today I had a package to drop off and didn't need to wait in line, so I just set it on other side of counter quietly and tried to leave. He scolded me that I was interrupting him, and then told me I can just leave it on the floor...? Not sure why the lecture was necessary. I'm not one to leave a review but I'm also not into condescending men power tripping on a Monday morning.
Horrible experience in this store today. I am hoping the owner will read this and coach his employee to do better. We went there to get something notarized and it ended up being a bad experience. The old man that did the notary was rude to us and others. We went in and there was a line. No issue there. But, the older man was on the phone with a customer and was being rude to them. First red flag. Then the couple in front us went to the counter and he was being rude to them as well. He was trying to chat while the store was filling up with customers. The couple in front of us didn't want to chit chat was getting annoyed because he was making small talk. Then he was making small talk with the employee next to him who wasn't asking for his help. 2nd red flag. He was hovering over this other employee who seemed to know what he was doing. The old guy was going slow on purpose and didn't seem to be in any hurry to help. Then when it was our turn to go to the counter he let a woman behind us go infant of us because he know we were there for a notary. 3rd Ted flag. No reason to let someone else go in front of us. He didn't even ask us if this was OK. He was short with my wife and I seemed annoyed we were there to get a notary. Someone needs to teach the eldery gentlemen some manners. We have stuff to ship this Christmas season but We'll go to Biddeford store to do so.
Awesome store. Every my experience with employees there has been a pleasure. They'll do everything for you.
Stopped by to have some items packed and shipped. Two people working who both seemed very efficient and kept the line moving. Good COVID protocols. The gentleman assisting me was very friendly and quick. Sending packages is rarely described as a pleasant experience but it was! Will definitely use their services again.
Never again. I brought in some equipment to return and the old guy up front kept telling me I needed this that and the other. He was talking my ear off and basically told me all the reasons he couldn’t help me. He was less than helpful to be exact avoid this UPS store at all costs.
Not as bad as USPS, but not as good as a typical UPS the ones Ive been to at least 2 Rating: Beware of hidden prices. I asked them to print 2 pages and then was charged $1.50 for using their computer, and $0.10 per page. UPS in Bangor didn't do anything like that. 4 Rating: The people who helped were truly personable and also efficient! Note: I talked with the owner, and I respect he's working hard to operate a franchise, but he should bill first before providing a service in case people have issues with the price, even if it's considered the areas market price.
