This gem of a find is located in Trounce Alley and was absolutely buzzing on a Monday evening! They have outdoor, bar and restaurant seating. The staff are very nice and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. The menu encourages tapas style sharing so go with a group and order many dishes. The mushroom salad was so delicious with a mango vinaigrette but I wish the salad were bigger!! The table next to us had ordered the coconut lime muscles and I wanted to sit with him so badly because it smelled so good. I also really enjoyed the pizza it was a thin crust and well done.
I went along with friends, It has a great vibe and option of Alfresco sitting as well with heated vents to make you comfortable outside. The chicken soup was really yup as the one you can see in the picture. Even one of the best pizza I had being a vegetarian as there weren't many options. But overall value for money as you can spend some quality time with your friends and family. Waitress and staff are courteous and welcoming.
Trounce alley is a neat little evening destination. Tapa Bar was buzzing this Saturday evening. There were even diners sitting in the patio. Music was loud but not too much that you can’t have a conversation, the lighting was pleasantly dim to set the ambiance, fire will from time to time light up the corner in the open kitchen, and there was a candle in each table. Our host and server were very friendly and made you feel at ease, all around good vibes with the staff. We ordered the papás with both sauces, the mixed olives with focaccia, the fried fish bites and the roasted eggplant in marinara. Also had a nice Spanish beer to wash it down. Everything was on point and delicious. The four tapas were enough for the 2 of us to share this evening. Would go there again to try the other dishes and the desserts!
Not the first time I am going to a tapa bar, the food is really good but I have some notes: - Sangria: add some apples, pears and soda, it would make it wayyy tastier. - Food: get some meat dishes, drop the tortilla chips and when you make a ceviche please mixed the “salad” upon order otherwise it gets soggy and mushy… Overall, the flavors were there, the ambience was great and so does the service!
My husband and I visited Tapa Bar for the very first time on Sunday, June 26th at 4:30pm. We had originally made a reservation for 5pm, but arrived early. Because the restaurant wasn't busy, they were able to seat us early, which was great. We were seated, but then it took over 10 minutes to even be acknowledged by our server and brought waters. I found that unacceptabley long. Overall, the food was good, but the service left much to be desired. Having to wait that initial 10 minutes, I wasn't even sure if we had a server assigned to the section we were in. We received the food quickly, but were missing the chicken wings we had ordered. When we brought this up with our server she assured us that they were on the way. But, I think that she had forgotten to ring them in, so they arrived after we had finished the rest of our food. Because they hadn't been rung in until after Happy Hour had ended, we had to pay full price, which isn't too big of a deal, just a little annoying. Also, they weren't the correct wings, but I didn't realize until after. Overall, the food was really good, but because of the service, I won't be back.
We had dinner there and we had no regret about it. Food was delicious specially the pasta was a pleasure. The service was so nice. Definitely a must go at Victoria Island.
One of the best mussels I’ve ever had! forgot to take pics tho.. Staff are very friendly, food are nice and large portion. My friends and I all enjoyed our dinner here very much. Will definitely visit again next time in Victoria!
I was visiting Victoria with my family including a dog and Kelly made this meal the most wonderful experience during our entire trip. It was a windy and snowy day and we were looking for a good restaurant that could seat my party including our dog. Patios were our only option. We were the only party seated outside in 0 degree weather but Kelly made our meal so delightful with swift service. She was highly attentive, turned on the heater outside for us, and came to check on us regularly with the most impeccable timing. When she noticed it started drizzling she quickly got the kitchen to get our churros started before we even asked. I highly recommend Tapa Bar if you're looking for a pet friendly restaurant with amazing food and heated patio. Everything we had was delicious. I would highly recommend the happy hour shrimp gambas with ajillo sauce. Mussels, wings and the complimentary focaccia bread were all yummy!
A very cozy place which is perfect for evening when most restaurants are closed in downtown! The food was super delicious, the service was a bit on slow side as all tables were full and there was a huge lineup. The staff were beyond friendly, they even gave us recommendations for places to visit in town.
This place has the best platter for two; tasty, delicious, sumptuous sample sizes, varied textures and meats/fish - must try. Also the bread basket and the date bacon rolls yum yum yum - cannot go wrong with this combo
