We bought dinner for a Birthday and the food was so good. We are very picky with Indian food and The Spice Root beat our expectations for sure. We ordered 5 dishes + Tandoori chicken so tender, Nann and rice. All meat and veggie dishes were excellent. The customer service was good too and they listened to our requests. We have family members that can't handle spice raise my hand so we asked for mild spice and we actually got a good mild spice, also they were right on time with our order, we asked to pick it up at 4:00pm and it was hot, packed and ready to go at 4:00pm. 100% will order again. Thanks for coming to town.
What a wonderful new addition to Ladner. The food has consistently delicious and the service is excellent. If you enjoy Indian cuisine and find yourself in Ladner, this is an absolute must. Prices are competitive, 70.00 fed 4 adults with some left overs.
I would avoid this place for a few more weeks as they figure things out. Many issues… including initially losing my order, then quoting a 25-minute wait - but actually waiting close to 60-minutes. No apology. Lots of growing pains. Give them a few weeks/months… hopefully they figure it out.
Got dinner there - butter chicken, garlic naan and the honey garlic cauliflower. All of it was delicious! We ate in and the staff were courteous. There's just a few tables inside, seems like most of the business is takeout. Parking: Street parking and a free municipal lot close by
Ordered the Malai Kofta and Chicken Korma. Really excellent food for the price, good portion sizes, the garlic naan was great. The Malai Kofta was very hearty but fluffy at the same time and I really enjoyed them. The Chicken Korma.....wasn't. It was closer to butter chicken or chicken masala, had a tomato base, not yogurt and cashew, and none of the spicing I would expect in a korma. Korma was written on the receipt, so I hope it was an honest mistake as opposed to serving what they had on hand or assuming I would not know the difference.
Love their butter chicken, beautiful sauce with just the right amount of heat. The garlic naan is yummy too! Excited to have a great restaurant right nearby!

Great food , good portions. The space is tiny and cozy, however could use some music or background music! Maybe a tv with Indian movies playing? We ordered bunch of food and let me tell you- It was amazing!! Everything was fresh even though we ordered 30 minutes before closing. The staff was very helpful and kind.
Really great bang for your buck. Great portion sizes and good service. Loved all the food there. I’d definitely go back again.
