Where to start...!? What a place, the rooms are fantastic and have absolutely everything you could possibly need. The Somerville really have thought of everything here, from cotton buds to home-made cookies! The breakfast in this place is unreal and probably the best I've ever had, which is saying something as I'm quite the breakfast connoisseur... We stayed for 4 nights of luxury and each morning we were greeted by Peter and Paul at breakfast who were both great. Peter is just a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the local area and he couldn't do enough for us, making our trip as relaxed as possible by even booking a restaurant for us on our first night. Amongst other useful things. The only negative that we could possibly muster would be that the bed was too comfy and we didn't want to leave!!! The finer details of this place transform it from an already luxurious hotel/B&B to an upmarket, well put together and well thought out boutique hotel in the most perfect of locations. We would very highly recommend The Somerville to anybody looking for a clean, relaxing and just absolutely amazing stay in the English Riviera. We will be back. Luke and Olivia x

Stayed for 3 nights this week. Peter and Helen have a beautiful place. Peter is great - giving local tourist advice nice places to visit, nice places to eat. Helen is behind the scene baking and prepping. Each room is elegant and individually decorated - Beds are so comfy, dressing gowns, mini fridge. Nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast is amazing, everything has been thought of from homemade granola to beautiful smoothies to a full english or American waffles. If you need somewhere to stay go and stay with Peter and Helen, you will struggle to find such a lovely, individual beautiful place. You won't be disappointed.

This place really is top drawer... like a home from home feeling. Hosts were brilliant, very tentative. The daily cake was a nice touch, and worth grabbing a piece we will definitely be returning . Outstanding cleanliness, extremely well presented , comfortable room with a great shower. Located near to marina/seafront, added convenience as my wife and I were comfortable walking everywhere we needed to go. If you're going to torquay, this one's definitely work checking availability!

Reluctantly leaving a review as others will see what an amazing find this wonderful place is and we won’t be able to come again as it’s fully booked! Helen and Peter are absolute gems and welcome you as if you’re kin! What’s not to like: free car park, wonderful rooms, cake, breakfast from the wonderful Welshman, relaxing times and close to everything. Please don’t stay here so we can book next time!

Wonderful weekend stay. The hosts are fantastic, mainly saw Peter. He was very friendly, helpful, informative and fun. Very accommodating hosts. The room was lovely had everything you needed for a good stay. Fresh milk in a small fridge which was nice, and useful. Small bar with well stocked fridge, very reasonably priced. The breakfast was wonderful, so much choice, well cooked, and quality produce. Highly recommend a stay here, looking forward to coming back. Good location short walk down the hill to the harbour.

I can't be more positive about this hotel! From the moment we arrived, Pete came to greet us and chatted like we were already friends! The hotel is spotless, gorgeous, the rooms amazingly comfortable and well decorated, as for the breakfast....WOW! Such great choices, including homemade granola, homemade cooked ham Helen does amazing free cakes for guests too! The service is always with a smile and chatty, genuinely the loveliest place to stay!!

Absolutely loved staying here. From the second we got there we were looked after by Peter who was a wealth of knowledge and helped to shape our trip. Breakfast is outstanding and it's in a really good location. Rooms are really nice. Cannot recommend more highly!Rooms: 5/5

Excellent location. Breakfast was lovely plenty of options from full English breakfast, cereals fresh apple and orange juice, Fresh fruit. Bedrooms lovely and bed very comfortable views lovely. Owners very knowledgeable. Bus stops short walk away from the b&b they will help you with the local bus timetable.Rooms: 5/5
