We ordered a shared drink bowl and we got a fun silly surprise 5 stars for the decor , staff and creative way of serving cocktails In regards to the food we would have to come back and try something else...such as spare ribs or tuna poke bowl. Deep fried Mac & cheese was good. Tacos need a whole lot of improvement. I'll probably never order them again. If you are looking for authentic Tahitian or Hawaiian food or a performance as a cultural experience..you won't find it here unfortunately. ..but its still worth coming by because you'll get a few laughs in. I suggest reserving seats before coming.
My first time at a Tiki bar. It was a different experience. Different good. The whole ambience - beach, islands and all was quite different given that it was a cold wet day in Vancouver Burnaby. The drinks menu is amazing. So many things you can do with rum. The quantity of crushed ice though Food was ok. Loved my tuna poke bowl. Getting in is a challenge. Waited almost 2hours for a walk in on a Saturday night in October so I would really recommend making reservations. A nice place for a date for two or for a group. Many options for cocktails of platters to share!
This just wasn’t a restaurant, this was an experience! We had an amazing night and it was so fun to be there. The drinks are delicious and not too expensive. Menu was super thorough and the vibes were out of this world. Food was amazing and they accommodated their tacos to my vegetarian liking. We ordered every bowl for the show that they give you alone. Dude I wish I could give 10/5 stars
Came here for the first time and it was so fun ! The place is very dark . It’s like your transformed into a different world and forget you’re in Vancouver. The customer service is great. And the drinks were fantastic. Lots of options to choose from. It books up very quickly so try to make a reservation ahead of time. I didn’t get a chance to try any of the food. We went on Waikiki Wednesday! So there was dancers performing and they were amazing ! The only thing I would say is that the music for dancing is deafeningly loud. I couldn’t even talk to the person next to me. We were yelling in each others ears just to communicate I’ll definitely will come back again for the drinks and to try out the food
What an awesome spot! The staff were super friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was amazing. I had to wait 2.5 hours to get a spot at the bar, but it was well worth it! The food was very tasty, I had the pulled pork sliders. The staff were also great about making me fun non alcoholic beverages! They were some of the coolest cocktails I've ever had!
This restaurant really deserves 6 stars for the atmosphere and the drink menu. These folks truly transport you to a far away place the minute you walk in the door. It took as a month to get the reservation and it was truly worth it. BTW, the food menu is meant for sharing. We will be back......
There’s no dessert, but don’t despair, ALL the drinks will distract and delight you!! The Shameful Tiki room serves the best hand shaken drinks over perfectly smashed ice. Complemented with fresh juices, fancy rum, and delicious garnishes, these drinks won’t disappoint. And neither will the food, especially if you’re a fan of pork. I ended up with the pupu platter because I could not decide. The staff are extremely charismatic and helpful and the ambiance… incredibly surprising. Make sure to make a reservation, because this place fills up fast.
This restaurant is epic!! Amazing ambience, decor, and menu item + names. Highly recommend visiting with a small group of friends and sharing any of the alcohol bowls and some food. The alcohol packs a punch but you’ll have an awesome time here!
The Shameful Tiki Bar is the very definition of a hidden gem. The Shameful Tiki Room is located on the southern part of Main Street in Vancouver BC. The neighbourhood feels like it could be the next Commercial drive with all the restaurants and cool little shops opening up. When you step into the Shameful Tiki Room it feels like you are stepping into another world. You open the door and step through the black curtains into a perfectly decorated and accessorized Tiki Bar. The people who entered just before us were turned away because the place was booked so make sure you make reservations. They do take tables on a first come first serve basis however if you call ahead you won’t risk being disappointed. We started off with the Mystery Bowl. I’m not sure what was in it but there was definitely a lot of rum. It was tasty and fun and arrived at our table in a large shell with two burning limes accompanied by crash of a gong that started off a song lead by our server. Entertaining, showy and tasty! We followed the Mystery Bowl with a Skull & Bones and a Day of the Dead. Spoiler alert here, the Day of the Dead was my favorite. If I could get this every night I would be happy reminded me of an adult version of a Dole Whip from Disneyland and with the music, the huts and the decor I felt I will I was right back there in the park. Round three consisted of a couple of classics. The Hurricane and the Blue Hawaii. Strong and fruity cocktails that brought about the inevitable conversation about Elvis movies and Surfer Rock. The Shameful Tiki Bar was packed the entire night and I think the entertainment had something to do with it. Performing the night we were there were three different Go Go Dancers that were amazing. The performances really took the evening over the top and really turned a great evening into an experience. We ordered the crab dip. Crab and artichoke covered in cream cheese & baked with lots of cheddar cheese. It was tasty and cheesy and the tortillas were fresh and salty and the perfect way to scoop up the dip. We watched a number of dishes come out of the kitchen and we will definitely be back for dinner. Again, tables go quickly so we recommend reserving a table early. The Shameful Tiki Room is definitely a spot you want to visit. It’s all good vibes and you get that island bar feel in the city. The staff are super nice and go out of their way to ensure a good time. Be prepared to have a good time because they’ve got some great drink options. We all had a good experience here and will be back again.
