Growing up near Port Hope, I used to go to St. Anthony’s elementary and on lunch break, all the kids would walk to a little red shack down the street called Mother’s to get fries and gravy. Now that shack has turned into the awesome Schnitzel Shack and I couldn’t have been more excited re-live my youth! Pictures of the food won’t do this place justice! Just go, try it and you’ll see what the hype is about! Absolutely delicious in ever way! The schnitzel was so tender yet crispy, it was heavenly! Perfectly crisp fries! They also have some AMAZING gravy! I love a great rich beef gravy and this place has nailed it! Their prices are fantastic for how much food you get. Both my husband and myself couldn’t finish our meals because they really pack the box! They also have a really nice little dining patio to sit on surrounded by flowers. We will 100% be back to this lovely little gem!
Amazing- we tried the Schnitzel Shack for the first time and we can't say how impressed we were. First, the food were stellar but the two two amazing ladies working in the kitchen are even more fantastic. Everything was made fresh....note that you should be prepared to wait a little bit for FRESH FOOD especially if they are busy which they are because it is great BUT it is definitely worth the wait!. Portions are amazing, food is delicious and the price is right. It's wonderful to be able to support a smaller establishment who works so hard to make things special for their community. Thanks so much for the amazing dinner and memories
Just wow. Food was prepared fresh and was delicious. Huge portions - two plate-sized pieces of schnitzel in a dinner. Schnitzel was thin but lightly breaded and perfectly done right amount of crispness without drying out the cutlet. Fries are thick-cut, fish and chips style.
Delicious schnitzel! Large portions and reasonably priced. Nice patio too. The ladies working were incredibly nice and even gave my children a little treat if they finished their meals : Only downside is that there is no washroom available.
So great!! Delicious schnitzel and very generous portions as well. They were super friendly and even gave us treats and water for our dog as we ate on the patio. Really appreciated their hospitality and will make it a point to stop here every time we're driving along the route!
I Drove One Hour and a Few Minutes to try this place. From arriving you notice it's a small family restaurant. You enter and place your order and are greated by a really friendly staff. I placed my order of a couple of Chicken Schnitzel sandwiches and a poutine. Upon trying the first bit man was it worth it. The sandwiches where filling and absolutely big. I would recomend this place to anybody that can head down to this gem.
THE Biggest Schnitzel sandwich Ever!!!! SOOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOD!!!! Family run, super kind pleasant people there and was a joy to be able to speak a bit of German with the Mom Simple rustic, brilliant sums up the food! Amazing prices for how much you get!!! Never had better!!! Their poutine is classic and Awesome tasting. But the King Crown of this place is the Schnitzel sandwiches!!! We're definitely going back!!!
In a word... awesome! The schnitzel sandwiches are HUGE, schnitzel is crispy and perfectly cooked, fresh cut fries are also great! Plan to have leftovers... The Schnitzel Shack is just a small place, nothing fancy. Just go to the counter and place your order, staff are friendly, food is prepared pretty fast. If it's busy, they'll give you a beeper to let you know when your food is ready. Tried the pork schnitzel and farmers schnitzel sandwiches, both were excellent. I've heard great things about the Schnitzel Parmesan, definitely going to try that next! Highly recommended.
Some of the best schnitzel I’ve ever had in my life. The portions are HUGE and the staff were so friendly. I would definitely drive from Toronto just to eat here.
Nothing beats great portion fresh schnitzel. We tried farmers and parmasan schnitzel. Both were delicious. Love this place. Will definitely come back for more.
