The Sanderson Centre for the Performing Arts is truly one of Ontario’s hidden gems. Beautifully restored to reflect its original historic design, the theatre perfectly blends old-world elegance with modern comfort. From the moment you walk through the doors, you’re surrounded by stunning architecture, rich character, and a sense of history that simply can’t be replicated in newer venues.nnThe restoration has brought this magnificent 1919 theatre back to life while preserving the charm and grandeur that made it special in the first place. Every detail, from the soaring ceiling to the ornate décor, creates an unforgettable atmosphere. The acoustics are excellent, the sightlines are impressive, and there isn’t a bad seat in the house.nnBeyond the building itself, the staff are welcoming, the venue is well maintained, and the quality of performances continues to make it a cultural treasure for Brantford and the surrounding area. It’s wonderful to see a community embrace its heritage and preserve such an important landmark for future generations.nnWhether you’re attending a concert, comedy show, play, or special event, the Sanderson Centre offers an experience that is every bit as memorable as the performance on stage. Highly recommended.
We were just walking up to enter the Sanderson centre and there was someone strung out and blocking our way in. Id think when there's a kids event there would be some kind of security to avoid that from happening. Not overly friendly staff. When I noticed the ATM was out of service, I asked if there was another machine, and was told they didn't know.
We have only ever been here for dance competitions, but the venue is beautiful. Conveniently located downtown so several food options close by and they sell food and drinks on site as well. Lots of parking in the back lot paid. Dressing rooms are pretty small but we always make it work! Hoping to go back here to see a show someday!
We attended the performance of The Band Last Waltz last night. It was an extraordinary performance by a group of talented, passionate musicians. An evening that the performers were clearly enjoying as much as the audience. Five stars to the assembled musicians for putting such a diverse, magical performance together. The Sanderson Center is a treasure, perhaps unsung treasure. The ambiance, seating, accessibility, and staff are all outstanding, and there’s lots of easy parking nearby. The acoustics are clean and warm. Congratulations to the staff who arrange the acts, as you have brought a great variety of serious quality performances to the stage. It’s a real treat to attend a performance at the Sanderson Center.
Cool venue, seen many cover bands there and my nieces dance competitions.nnOnly thing that’s kinda weird, I watched 3 children try to order popcorn and they were told there wasn’t any, when there was literally a bunch in the popcorn machine. She’s said “you don’t want the stuff at the bottom”, which like common, they’re kids bro, they’d probably eat chalk. The other guy working was literally filling a bag for someone as this happened.nnSeemed like she just didn’t want to do the work but like what kinda psycho declines children from getting popcorn when there’s an active batch right in front of them.nnI dunno man
