Measured pours for mixed drinks, cash only. I always tip well but help not allowed to make a decent mixed drink for regular customers. I only drink beer here as a result. Never drink beer any place else. Food is good and the help is nice too us.
It's my kind of place. You probably are not going to give this a 5 star review however. Cash bar, cheap drinks with plenty of selection, a regulation shuffleboard table, not one but two pool tables, a jukebox with plenty of amps, and a great crowd of regulars. You've got to have an appreciation for what this place was in the 60's Houghton Lake. If that nostalgia doesn't appeal to you, there are lots of "nicer" local bars.
Good old classic bar. Great place to hang out with friends.
This was a fun place to stop. It definitely hasn't been updated in a few decades, which I think is part of the appeal. If you're afraid of dark and dingy don't come here. Good place to stop for a couple beers. I imagine it's quite the locals bar on nights and weekends. Cash only.
This one is my favorite cause they are always open until two unless there's not enough people. Great bar tenders very nice. They have two pool tables, darts, and more. County music is played there more but they have a jukebox so you can change it. It's where everyone one goes at the end of they night most days.
For an up north bar, this was the most fun, exciting and entertaining place I've been to in that area in a long time. Walking in is like entering the 50's or 60's, in other words not much has changed. I had a great time, bartender was fun to chat with. Hope to return again on another Friday.
This place is our happy place. We love the owners and their willingness to help others. We play trivia monthly Second Saturdays at 7 there as a fundraiser for Relay for Life. They go out of their way to help local individuals and causes. The food is great and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. We doubt that there is a bar around more like “Cheers ” than Shenanigan’s. We first went there in July of 2017 and now feel like family. Owners Jerry and Meg will entertain you with their musical talents and loving banter. Karaoke is a fun time. Come on down for fun, food, and camaraderie. You won’t be disappointed.
Very fun place to go, and Chris the bartender was very polite, and a great bartender
Wow what a dump, it's almost like you need a tetanus shot when you go in there it's so creepy dark and dirty the owner sits at the end of the bar listens to your conversation chimes in I don't go in there pay my money to have a beer when the you know the the owner is sitting there creeping me out sorry !!! Not sorry
Best "dive bar" in the area! The Sand Bar has all the original interior decor it had back in the day - it's like stepping through time. Drinks are very affordable! TouchTunes jukebox. Pool, darts, and other games. No food except bagged chips and such, but you can order pizza from a local place. Taxi service picks up here, too.
