It hits you when you first walk into the foyer and see a beautiful wine cellar on your left and a live tree growing behind the hostess’ table. This place is next level. Awards dating back to the 1990s are proudly displayed on you way to the bathroom; the Rim Rock is the best restaurant in Whistler. It only takes 5 minutes to understand why. Service was impeccable. Experience waiters take care of you with the perfect balance of “fine-dinning” mixed with “relaxed-vacation” vibes. Anton our server was a seasoned pro who rolled with the punches and made sure our evening was a pure delight. He knew his stuff and knew how to make us laugh. And then there is the food. The chefs here know how to give Vancouver’s finest a run for their money. My wife had the duck three ways while I had the mix grill. The fillet mignon was the best I have had in recent memory; a medium rare steak that melted under the knife and on the tongue. Our friends had the seafood platter special and another mixed grill. We all left delighted as can be. I think the biggest surprise for me was a rare bottle of scotch see pic that I would recommend trying. It’s hard to find only 918 bottles produced and an incredible value. I think it may even be under-priced for the quality.
Had a great time here! Originally my wife and I made a reservation to the wrong Rimrock but made another one and the staff was extremely accommodating when requesting an earlier time. We sat at the bar and had a great time with our bartender and the food was great - we got half a dozen oysters, the seafood and meat trio, their tartare, and toffee dessert which was easily the stand out of the night. I definitely feel people saying Rimrock is one of top got it right. Would definitely come back again if I'm visiting Whistler!
We had a great experience at Rimrock. Our server was so engaging and friendly throughout the night. The beef tenderloin tartare was my favourite dish out of all of the dishes that we ordered. Parking can be a challenge but I will definitely be back!
Hats off to the chef for an excellent dinner - we tried the fish trio special for the night and the lamb from the regular menu was delicious. Outstanding service by Lucia who waited on our table; she went above and beyond to take care of us including recommendations for food and wine selections. The hosts were super polite and welcoming as well into a very beautiful ambiance. Overall a very enjoyable, memorable and fun evening at Rimrock cafe
Fantastic dining experience. Restaurant is very cozy and a great environment to enjoy a meal. The service was impeccable with friendly and attentive staff. The food was all incredible and the prix fix was great value and every item we tried was prepared perfectly and tasted amazing. I couldn’t recommend this restaurant more. Make a reservation in advance as this place is regularly fully booked especially during busy seasons in Whistler.
Overall the food tasted excellent. The red meats and lobster tail were cooked perfectly and the appetizers were quite enjoyable. However, I though the service lacked care and attention. We let them know this reservation was to celebrate 3 birthdays and they didn't do anything. Honestly for this type of restaurant I'd expect they at least acknowledge it during the service or give a complementary dessert.
Wow! This place is incredible! Rated #2 of all Whistler restaurants on Trip Advisor, and I understand why. Should be #1! Nicely upscale but not pretentious - very welcoming. SUCH amazing food! The raw oysters, especially the champagne ones, are so fantastic that we ordered a second round. The service was top-notch -thank you Kelly! Expensive, but well worth it. A truly memorable experience!
This restaurant is simply outstanding. My partner and I are visiting from Ottawa and were recommended this spot from someone in our hotel and it is arguably one of my best restaurant experiences ever!! Antony was brilliant and so attentive in every respect and had super recommendations. We decided on the duck and filet and they were simply incredible! Cocktails were perfect, wine recommendations matched perfectly, dessert was so yummy and Antony asked if he could assist with a drive home too!! Oyster delivery kitchen folk were awesome, water filler gal was sweet, and manager checked in and was glad to hear that we were very impressed. Just go if you’re in town - incredible experience all around!!!
The mussels were the most delicious I’ve had in a while. Service was also very good and our waiter was friendly. We had ordered a ceviche that our waiter forgot but this was quickly replaced by a complimentary dessert! Overall, we had a great time :
I had the BEST meal and experience at Rimrock. My partner and I were pleasently surprised that they had a $59 3-course meal special when we visited. This is a great price given their regular menu is definitely $$$$. You can add more courses for the a la carte price. There were plenty of choices for each course and it made it difficult to choose what to have! We had the clams special and mushroom salad for the first course. Clams were sooooo good. Mushroom salad was good too. We added fresh oysters for $18 4 champagne oysters. Second course: scallops and ceviche special. Both perfect. Third course: 12oz ribeye steak added $15 cost for this and salmon. Salmon and steak were both perfectly cooked to medium rare. Dessert: sticky toffee pudding. to die for. We had several cocktails and a half bottle of wine. Service was phenominal. I cannot rave enough about this place. I can't wait to come back next time I'm in BC. I will pay regular price for the experience with no hesitation.
