Dec 30/ 2024 social assistance told me it’s my job to financially support my 20 yr old daughter. She’s had no income since July 2024, has disabilities that stopped her from working. Her dad has been on welfare for many of years now while the child support arrears piled up to $17,000. He never once made a cheque to FRO. Anything I got was garnished. So I am to pay for my disabled daughter and pay taxes that help fund her dad’s welfare cheque. Nice.nAs I turned around after being denied help for my daughter, I see an older brown lady with a headscarf awaiting her scheduled welfare appointment. I am deeply dissappointed they dont know what to do with the family counselling they are not totally profesional at all they are the dummmbest people when coming to victims help they waste the time and energy of their clients they are losers they throw clients from one person to another not knowingwhat to do with them they are sick they need help

Of all the entities I've seen absolutely milk this pandemic, this one is by far the most guilty.nnWhether it be their absolutely vile monopoly on covid tests at the beginning of the pandemic, a non-user-friendly website that states vaccine appointments can be booked when they cannot be, changing the criteria for 2nd doses without any notice, or having a phone number that won't accept calls, the mere fact that this agency is in charge of the roll-out of vaccines in the region has actually made me want to move from here entirely.nnI find it disgusting that I've been on hold for almost 2 hours, after 2 days of not accepting any incoming calls. I find it even more disgusting that they find it okay to hoard vaccines, and give you a 4 month wait until your second dose. I am 100% eligible, but you wouldn't think I am based on the way this process is set up. I certainly hope this agency is held to account when citizens realize how poorly they are treated by those who are supposed to support us.
