I was traveling through Cheboygan on a trip with 6 dad aged men and we happened upon Stormy Kromer shop, and upon entry we noticed it was a ladies store, and almost left, but then we noticed a little bar in there! So we sat down and chatted. Soon we found the labyrinth of shops with bars, an amazing little music theatre, and then the Queens Head through a secret book case door. Wow. Classy. Extremely well decorated, and the hospitality from one end to the other was fantastic. Food was way above expectations and overall we all left there hours later full of great food, beer and cocktails, and hearts full from an incredible experience. We are all returning 5 hour drive with our wives just to experience this place again !!!
The Queen’s Head Wine Pub is THE PLACE to visit if you’re in Cheboygan. We signed up to attend the Cheeseburgers in Paradise party and had savoury, full-flavoured food, listened to great music , threw beach balls, drank margaritas and Boddingtons ale , danced in a conga line, made new friends and lasting memories. What could be better than to eat delicious food and have loads of fun with the friendly people of Cheboygan and staff at the Queen’s Head Wine Pub? If you’re in the area, you must put this on your list of places to visit!
I do not recommend!! I was with my daughter and son-in-law for a nice evening. We sat at the bar and the bartender was rude!! We did not feel welcome so we left. They have craft cocktails and I asked her which one she liked to make. She said”You never ask a bartender that question!! Ummm yes you do, which drink do you like of your craft cocktails??! She was busy cutting fruit for days!!! And talking to her coworkers about her shopping trip to Gaylord!!!
After three long days working in Cheboygan it's unfortunate I did not find this place sooner as I am leaving tomorrow. Between the greeting from the owners, the amazing atmosphere and the world class food to say I was impressed is an understatement. We felt very welcome and happy as the staff and chef engaged in conversations and pointed out some favorites that were to die for. If you enjoy great company and amazing food then this place is for you. I can see the Queens Head taking the crown to be the best restaurant in the city.
Really enjoyed our time! Great drinks and great conversation! The food looked good, though we didn't eat there. John the owner gave us a tour and that was really cool. What a gem this place is. You must check it out!
Phenomenal food, service and ambience. It's not merely a restaurant, but rather a community. Our 1st visit to the Queens Head in our new Up North home town made us feel like we have a pub home with lifelong friends. A+ experience!
A draught of Boddington’s and the personable charm of the owners makes The Queen’s Head a most welcome addition to the dining and drinking experiences of Northern Michigan. Well worth the drive from I-75 for a pint, a glass of wine, a cocktail, or a gourmet dish. One cannot help but feel at home in a place where the waitstaff are attentive, the fire warms the body, and the food and drink warm the soul.
This little gem is tucked away and connected to the Stormy Kromer Cap and ale the main reason we popped in there Being a Yooper chatted it up a bit with the lady in the store and even the owner. She showed us the neat theater and the Lark Lounge which is connected to the Queen's head through a sweet hidden bookcase. Enjoyed a nice drink and our food was delicious..we got the fish dip which was nice and smoky. I got the tortellini while my husband got the chicken parmesan pizza. The pizza is made with cauliflower crust which you cannot even tell. Delightful. It's an hour trek for me but I will definitely go there again for a nice drink and meal even a band at the theater. The Lark Lounge is a perfect place for a 1920s speakeasy themed new years or party. Love the decor of all the places. Also super nice people
Traveling through Michigan, we stumbled onto this wonderful cluster of businesses where my wife found 2 beautiful dresses at Simply Marcella's. We came back the next evening for a wonderful dinner, drinks and attended a concert featuring "ASH" at the Lark Theater. John and Marcella were the best hostesses! Going to the Queens Head was like coming into a friends home. It was warm and inviting! While my wife did some shopping, I enjoyed a Boddingtons pour. Thanks for such a wonderful experience!
Great atmosphere and friendly staff! It made me and my son feel very welcome! - Amy Beach I loved the pizza! The owner gave me and my mom a tour of the place! We got to see Charlie Reager play some music! - Blaze Beairl
