5/29/2022: After a morning of shooting at Sunset Hill range with my family, we decided to stop here again for an early afternoon lunch. My husband and I came here a while back in 2019 and decided to bring more family members along. Once again, we were not disappointed with the food or service. Christie, our server, was very sweet and attentive from start to finish. Everything was delicious -the ribs/brisket w/pineapple coleslaw, burgers the spicy one, the mac & cheese bites, the wings, the sweet potato fries and for DESSERT -the homemade apple pie was out of this world. If you stop here, do yourself a favor and get the homemade apple pie. You will not be disappointed.
Very clean and charming atmosphere. Our server was wonderful. The food came out quickly and was very very good. Would definitely go back. Typical tavern cuisine. The PourHouse fries were excellent, as was the coconut shrimp and French onion soup.
Loved everything about this place. It was a pleasant experience while the rest of our Poconos vacation was a total bust. The staff, food and atmosphere were all great! Highly recommend! Especially the desserts
Great food and beer selection along with a full bar. The last two visits were good. However, the one sandwich was slightly over toasted this time. The server was spectacular. We will definitely be back.
I visited here from NY. The price was decent but some of the food and drink was medicore. My friend order a steak and he said it was not seasoned just tasted like salt. He also ordered Spanish rice and pineapple coleslaw. He said the coleslaw was the only thing he liked. I order Spanish rice, corn, BBQ Ribs and a pina colada. The food quantity was sml and the bbq ribs was ribs with bbq sauce poured over it. It was okay not enjoyable. For the starters we got the platter that included 4 items for $19. We got onion rings, sweet potato fries, and wings. This was not that bad for the price. The waitress was nice according to my friend.
Cool neighborhood spot. Love the location, the style & decor i.e. beverages in mason jars, old signage on the walls, etc and it offers a great range of menu options. I am stoked to see they have live , and hope to catch that one time! The waitresses/hosts we're super friendly and helpful, dishes were cleared quickly and food arrived quickly. The main reason for my rating here is that the food could have been better. The avocado on my burger was completely underripe, and the guac was not at all creamy--just chunky veggies mixed together with, sadly, no flavor. I would have asked for a new serving, but it seemed that there was a batch of unripe avocado. Meanwhile, the fish tacos were so spicy that my family members two had them said they could only taste heat. The tacos' accompanying sides a pico, and a slaw of some kind, were also hot-- if not hotter than the fish . Only the rice side could be finished. If they complimented the dish with a sweet and creamy side or two, it would've been excellent. I will say, my impossible burger was outstanding aside from the unripe avocado! And the sweet potato fries were crispy and tasty! I will definitely give this place another try, and looking forward to upping my rating.
I love this place ! everything‘s always delicious the meatloaf With a twist of elegance omg! paradise trout wow ! The fire roasted corn pineapple coleslaw, just everything I’ve had the entire menu. ! cold beer, Fantastic cocktails . Definitely five stars highly recommend. Staff always pleasant happy and attentive.
Most inconsistent place I've eaten at. Some times it's great and I love their food sometimes it's bland and I would've rather gotten fastfood don't like fast food. Tonight I got a burger and tater tots and the tots were cold and soggy. The burger was supposed to be medium and it wasn't even rare. I'm ok with eating my burgers rare, but I shouldn't have to cook my burger to the point that it is rare still bleeding . It was cooked on the outside and the center was cold and raw. Could be a great place if the cooks were consistent. The environment is great and the ordering in service is great. The takeout is ok. Sometimes I feel like your order sits on the counter for a while if you order curbside could be short on staff?
Service was slow and place was not busy at all. It was 10 mins before we got asked our drink selections. It was another 15 before our order was taken. Food came out quickly but waited 20 mins for our check and ended up taking it up ourselves because waitress never came back for it. Pricey but it is the Poconos. $7.50 for a small CUP of chili! Not a bowl but a cup. Coconut shrimp tasted as if it had freezer burn. The prime rib steak sandwhich was very good. Will try again....could have been an off day.
The food was fresh and delicious. Our server Amber, was the Best!!!! She gave great suggestions about our meal and drinks and she was spot on. We did not feel uncomfortable or not welcomed. I plan to return before I end my stay in Cresco. Features: Our table was cleaned before we sat. No one wore masks except us.
