Story

The Picnic House was established in 2012 as a place for fresh, fanciful and flavorful food. You can dine in the Grand Room (c. 1926) or at a table reclaimed from a 700-year-old fir tree, or even grab & go to picnic with your cuisine where you would like. The lunch menu consists of soups and sandwiches, and dinner offers small plates, soups, salads, and entrees.

I highly recommend Picnic House for a casual lunch or a fun dinner night. Their friendly staff will make you smile. I recommend the Vegan Tomato Soup, Fried Chicken be sure to ask for their hot sauce, and the S'mores Cake for dessert. If you can, try to sit at the bar. It's very lively and fun.

Popular and trendy spot downtown Portland. It was relatively busy for lunch and service reflected. Chips served with lunch instead of French fries. Sandwiches were good. Bill comes in a book which is a unique touch.

A preferred scene for delicious american food. Definitely one of the best places in the area. Prices were decent. Kinda of like a restaurant in Los Angeles I liked to visit.

Visited this wonderful place around the corner from Hilton Hotel as I was visiting the city for the first time. Michael was our server and he was the best EVER. Funny, witty, sarcastic and a delight. LOVED the tomatoe soup. Went back the next day for another cup. I do wish they had bowls as the cup was not enough. Lol

Best salad/sandwich combo I've had in a long time. Worth a visit. Get the turkey and apple sandwich if you're not sure.
