While the mainstream moved more and more towards cold fermented, homegenic, and frankly rather generic German style lagers, a select group of craftsmen maintained the aleing tradition. Picaroons embodies this spirit and still uses the traditional methods of these craftsmen.

My walk to Picaroons was perfect, as I was able to use the Bill Thorpe Walking Bridge. I am so glad I was mistaken because I had a chance to order Vegetarian Chili. And for my drink the Red River North Cider hit the spot and was refreshing! My Chili was out of this world. The place is pretty cool with toddlers and dogs, who are welcomed.  Even the staff is super friendly, where they even called a cab for me! This is a place worth a visit, you will not be disappointed!

Great brewing company and pub. The grounds are the best we have seen of any of the brewers in Fredericton we have visited so far.  Great service, and friendly and knowledgeable staff. Good menu too, with a lot of variety. The outdoor patio in the back is to be seen. Like a gem oasis on the lawn.

A friend was visiting from Toronto and we decided to have a few beer and something to eat. Picaroons has delicious beer and the Roundhouse is a great environment- definitely a 5 star experience except for the food. We ordered nachos and two kinds of wings. The nachos were strange but tasty, lots of cheese, fresh jalapeños, queso fresco and ketchup. Yes, ketchup. The wings however were completely wrong. The first basket was supposed to be chipotle but there was no discernible chipotle flavour. It was more of a sweet and sour hot sauce. The second basket of wings were the real disappointment. They were supposed to be sriracha and lime but tasted of neither and they were inedibly hot. I included a photo of my refrigerator door with 3 bottles of sriracha, chili crisp, Cholula sauce, etc to illustrate that I’m quite familiar with the product and that I quite enjoy hot and spicy foods. We explained the issue to the staff and their response was that the lime juice increases the heat- and that’s the line they stuck too despite the fact that there was no lime flavour or sriracha flavour and the fact that both my guest and I are very familiar with that particular flavour combination. My friend tried reasoning with them and finally ended up dumping the wings in the garbage. We were treated like rubes that lack a palate and couldn’t take the heat when we were clearly served wings in the wrong sauce. I’ll be back for the beer but I’ll never eat there again.

Great location, awesome views, friendly service, tasty drinks! I don't have enough good things to say about Picaroons. It is the best location in Freddy for a get together with friends, family, or strangers, on any day of the week. I'm not much of a beer drinker, but it offers such a variety, including a small selection of ciders, that there is something for everyone. The ambiance is second to none. And the staff have always been both friendly, and helpful in suggesting drink selections. A must stop for any resident of Fredericton, or anyone visiting!

As everyone knows, this is the perfect reason to cross the river! The walk is lovely, the views are excellent and then you reach the beautiful space. Picaroons is the god daddy of the breweries, the inspiration for so many others to follow in the brewing business and we beer lovers are grateful! The staff is excellent and the vibe is very cool. We send many of our clients your way!!

Picaroons easily has the best venue to grab a drink any time of the year. The food on site is made by the 540 team and is phenomenal every season.  Plenty of parking and seating for family, friends and dogs! Be sure to bring your furry friends for a visit too

Great beer! Comfortable indoor area where you can consume fresh beer on tap. Its nice to go out, get out of the house. Before stopping in for a pint went for a walk across a bridge which crosses the saint John river. Quite beautiful.

Love the place great view great beer great walking location. The "so called music" is generally computer generated instruments and auto tuned vocals generally you have to raise your voice and then eveyone has the raise there voice and the noise in the hard surface rooms becomes oppressive. No music is better.

Amazing venue with spaciois indoor/outdoor seating along the river front and a great beer selection 16x taps avail on 06 Aug 2019. $8 for flights of 4x 5oz tasters is fantastic. Small food menu provides great varied options for eats, but the most popular items burger, pulled pork run out quick.
