The Other Place by La Patrona

I'm a huge fan of La Patrona and Casa12Doce so it wasn't a shock that I'd be a fan of TOP too! I'm just sad that it took me so long to get there! We ordered the Shrimp, Barbacoa and Suadero tacos to share which were all amazing but the Barbacoa was the favourite amongst all of us. We started with a plate of nachos with chicken and a side of guacamole which was equally amazing. The margaritas were excellent as was the peach mojito drink special. The prices are high and worth every penny as you can tell the food is made with care and fresh ingredients. We ended the meal with churros and ice cream which was followed by nap as soon as I arrived home where I dreamed of my next visit. PS- the bathroom art is freaking amazing!

Not a huge fan. Prefer La Patrona myself for Mexican food, much more intimate. Menu a bit more varied but confused. Steak was cooked nicely but heavy on the salt. Salad and dressing really good Burger was also good. Service was ok but a bit uninspired

The food here is just utterly wonderful! I haven't been to the main location yet, but a friend highly reccomended this place, so I had to come. I really adore Mexican cuisine, and the food here is just so flavourful and highly enjoyable. The tacos were just perfection, and I got greedy and ordered a flatbread too. Just be aware the flatbread is much larger than expected! The service was super friendly and helpful! The margaritas were probably the highlight of my night! Also there is some awesome artwork in the bathrooms! ;D Vegetarian options: Thier tacos are meat/seafood based, but there are flatbreads and burgers that are vegetarian. Discuss with your server! Parking: There is free parking outside of the building.

This place was a little hard to find as the signage is quite small, but once you walk in the door, it is very authentic. The decals all over the dining room and washrooms are very cute and artistic, and the music really adds to the atmosphere. The service was good and friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious. They have a good drink menu and lots of options for my coeliac mom. I ordered the Barbacoa tacos and the consommé that came with them absolutely made the meal. I was recommended to order the beans as my side as opposed to rice, but they were only a blob of refried beans and not a very memorable addition to the meal. Prices are what you would expect them to be. I will definitely go again!

Service was good and the burger was one of the best burgers I've ever had. They also had 70 Acre beer on tap and a good selection of other drinks/cocktails. They had live music and we were told there's live music on Fridays and Saturdays as well as Salsa dancing starting at 9:00. Highly recommend this restaurant as well as La Patrona.

Highly recommend this restaurant! The nachos are fresh, crispy and authentic plus loaded with toppings. The Al pastor tacos are so delicious and a great sized portion. Busy restaurant so I’d recommend making a reservation. Amazing restaurant with friendly and attentive staff.

TOP’s is an excellent place for lunch. The staff was Awesome, very attentive and made us feel like we were the only people in the restaurant. The Al Pastor Tacos were awesome, and we got the Lunch Special with Barbacoa. The food was amazing, fresh and very well presented. AND…..Margaritas…..welllll…..the Margaritas. Look at the picture and your mouth with water. They were some of the best we’ve had in a long time. We will be back to keep trying the menu, it was very expansive with options……and will keep everyone updated in the Margaritas, as we will continue to try them over and over again.

This is a place of booming mexican flavours, true to the culture and history, without watering down or excessive reworking for the Canadian taste buds. This is one of those locations where you should an on coming back, and taking the time to try things, new things, new salsas, new flavours.

We brought the whole family including parents and small kids to The Other Place to celebrate a birthday. Stephanie, our waitress really made the whole experience memorable for us she was very personal and catered to the kids to make them feel special. The atmosphere and artwork inside the restaurant are perfect for an evening out and the drinks were crafted nicely. Speedy service and great food, a little on the pricey side but you get what you pay for in this case.

We came in for our anniversary tonight. The server was horrible. No side plates for our chips and salsa... Didn't even come back to check on us until appy was done. Didn't get to order mains till after appy was done. Forgot my husband's coke. Didn't check on us with entree had to waive down the other server for pop refill and a napkin. BUT the food was AMAZING. BEST TACOS. Amazing. The flavor was outstanding. Great portion size!!!!!
