The Olde Ice House feels like that generational family place where everyone can go to have a family weekend meal - the setting is cozy, feels like in a familiar childhood home, with furniture and oddities to match. All and all, the food was good and you'll get your fill as the portions are perfect. Not sure how I feel about the overall experience - not great, not awful, just OK.
We were staying close to Gannon’s narrows wanted fish and chips. This place is about 20 minutes from our cottage. I had the pickerel which was pan fried and came with home cut fries and coleslaw the fish was outstanding. Nice and fresh pan fry with very light breading only needed the splash of lemon no tatter sauce needed at all. My wife had the battered cod with onions rings. Batter was nice a light and very good. Also had the barking squirrel beer nice and cold. I would of given a 5 out of 5 but the fries were good but a few slightly under done. We came for the fish and it was excellent.
We've been ordering from here since we moved up to Buckhorn early June 2021 and absolutely love their fish and chips! Their burgers and Cobb salad are also very good! Yesterday I ordered the eggs Benedict for take out we are just next door and they gave it to me on a plate because it looked better that way! I loved that so much!!! Service is amazing, they often run our food over to us when they can and always with a smile on their faces!
Fantastic breakfast and the server was super friendly. Finally breakfast potatoes with some flavor. Quality bacon and home made preserves. Definitely will be back. Next time I will hit the pub in the evening.
My order was for a call in pick up order so I never actually went inside. But my meal was great and a decent amount of it. A nice little patio outside during the summer! My order was a toasted western with homefries and a side of tasty bacon! Parking: It's a gravel/dirt parking lot.
Waited over an hour for breakfast which is pretty ridiculous for a typical breakfast. Not sure why the reviews are so great. Had to ask for sugar, the toast was burnt, the eggs over easy weren’t runny so overcooked and the bacon wasn’t crispy. I hate to leave a review like this cause we chose this place to support local business, but it wasn’t busy yet we waited over an hour for sub par food. We live in the country but this was slower than “country time”.
Best local in town! For a small town there are quite a few places to eat; this is the best hands down! Great homemade food; chef will make adjustments to the meal if requested ham and eggs, no eggs. Prices are reasonable and the service can't be beat. Always welcomed warmly!!
Just love this place. Amazing home cooked meals and friendly staff. Best spaghetti, roast beef sandwiches and turkey dinners to die for! Couldn't ask for anything more And homemade pie from Patti... ughhh soo delicious!!!
Waitress was great, friendly, great with the menu. Food was great, potatoes were cold with the fish. Overall been there a few times will go back again and againFood: 4/5
