What a gem! The service is amazing and the food is incredible! Best egg salad I’ve ever had. Worth the drive. The decor is is an eye full! You could spend hours just looking at all the beautiful tea pots and paintings.
Lovely spot for English tea and other English dishes like ploughman's lunch. Great fun for kids and adults. We each got our own unique teapot to match our teas! Vegetarian options: Accommodated our vegetarians well Kid-friendliness: Kids tea was so reasonably priced Parking: Easy street parking
I loved the salon/store a lot. Many many tea cups and tea pots displayed everywhere in the store. The paintings of queens on the wall, antique piano at the corner of the tea room, and many more details throughout the place. Each table had a small book to read while waiting for the meal, which my family actually enjoyed. The meal was good too, and decently priced considering afternoon teas are usually overpriced everywhere. The service was great. My husband and my son decided to split a sandwich, and they plated half of the meal in each plates. There’s an antique store connected to the tea salon, where I found a big collection of my favourite blue flow plate!! I’ll definitely come back when I’m in the area.
Such a great choice for my birthday lunch!! The mom and daughter team were so lovely and the food was great definitely try the sticky toffee pudding
Went based on reviews. This was far less than a 4.8 experience. I've gone to high teas elsewhere and this was the worst one yet. For 28/per person, for high tea the tea isn't even loose leaf rather common brands at a grocery store in tea bags. The pictures show buns but we didn't have any. We received maybe max two sandwiches Crist removed that consisted of three pieces of cucumber cream cheese, three small pieces of ham type nibbles, and two thin slices of egg salad pastry, three cherry tomatoes, four thinly sliced pieces of cucumber, three small half pieces of cantaloupe, four raspberries, a tablespoon and a half of chutney. The scone was tasty, however, more like cake. The Devon cream was real whip cream. Not authentic Devon cream based on experience. You could see more of plate then food. The upholstery/ material of the chairs is in dire need of shampooing. To be honest would like my money back. It is cheaper to get a sandwich and salad then order the scone. You'll receive way more food for a better price. Not impressed. Felt ripped off. Wish I had of taken a picture!!
I wish i took pics ! This place is beautiful inside but the deserts are to die for ! The service was fantastic and to top it off the a antique market thats attached to the tea room. The lady that runs this side of the store is a wealth of info about the whole area great lady to talk too !Food: 5/5
A wonderful, cozy atmosphere with exceptional food. Highly recommended.
Great ambiance, great food, great service, great presentation, worth every penny. Advisable to make a reservation a couple of weeks ahead at least. Can't say enough The O'Conner is the real deal and not at all pretentious!
Was a great experience. Food was yummy
More than just a plesant spot for tea dates; The O'Connor House is a unique concept Cafe that offers a little excursion back in time for the afternoon. The grand old house, charming victorian country decor, coffin ceilings and fine bone China really sets a cozy, romantic mood that satisfied my love of charming old stuff. It was a fun surprise to see what teapot the server brought out, as they have quite the collection! As my grandma always says, tea simply tastes better served in real china! This is the perfect place to take your grandma or kids out for a proper English tea time! Oh, and the antique shop adjoining the store is a treasure trove to wander around and digest your meal afterwards. Kid-friendliness: The menu offers this adorable little afternoon tea plate for kids, complete with a mini pot of tea, choice of sandwich and a brownie! Perfect for kids. Parking: Large parking lot so it's not a far walk for seniors!
