We stayed this week to celebrate our anniversary and play some golf. Very cozy inn with friendly and hospitable staff. We had a bit of a hiccup on arrival as I booked a king bed and they provided me a queen I had a boot on for an injury and we needed a larger bed room and indicated that is all they had. They straightened this out quickly and solved the issue for us. Even gave us a free beer for the mix-up. We ate in the restaurant the second night and it was excellent. They were clearly short staffed due to another event at the INN but what staff were there they worked hard to make the experience enjoyable. The reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 was the bed. Mushy bed with a big crater in the middle of the bed. Truly felt like the bed they had when they opened in 1792. They have new owners and the first thing they should do is replace all of the beds. Threw my back out after a night tossing and turning in the bed. Can't say I will be back until this is corrected. Other than that, a very enjoyable experience
Not accommodating with any requests. No response to asking for late checkout. Unwilling to provide any refund the day after I booked due to funeral arrangements. Charges extra for children. Front desk clerk didn’t smile or provide welcoming environment. Enjoyed dinner and staff otherwise. Rooms were fine.
Very cozy Inn close to Sunapee. It is my go-to Inn whenever I head north to get some time in on the slopes. The best is to wrap up the day with a great dinner at the restaurant downstairs. Always great food, and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. I am already planning some trips for this winter.Rooms: 4/5
We are so happy we stumbled upon the New London Inn on our way to Cape Cod this year. Needing a last minute place to spend the night we called around as we drove down the highway and found there were rooms available. Tired and hungry, we showed up close to when their restaurant was going to stop taking orders and it was suggested we get an order in asap. Upon check in we also placed a food order that would be brought up to our room after we got settled in. The food was amazing and the service was impeccable, I would highly recommend either staying here or just visiting the restaurant on the bottom floor! We may have to make it a tradition to leave a night early for vacation so we can stop in New London for a night. Thanks again!
Dining at the Coach Room was great . Menu items varied and generous portions. Filet mignon was outstanding. Our server made the evening pleasant. Food & drinks: Delicious
This is the second group luncheon at the Coach House at the New London Inn this summer. I can't say enough about their amazing service and staff. Mary Carol the manager, and the waitstaff where some of the best. They go above a and beyond. They made everyone feel so special, and they were always smiling. Our entire group talked about them all the way home. The food was absolutely delicious! ! We really can't wait to return to the Coach House! 5* service for sure!
First, the quantity of food, ordered a salad for $15 it looked like it was a garnish that belong on the side of a main entrée. Second, ordered filet mignon medium comes out rare, sent back comes back still not to the temperature of choice. Waitress Rarely check on us, table stayed cluttered with empty bottles and glasses. I asked for olive oil and vinegar on my salad, they bring out the wrong dressing. I asked to please bring out olive oil and vinegar, they don’t have olive oil in a Italian style restaurant? I get vegetable oil and vinegar.
We recently used a private room and the terrace for a wedding rehearsal dinner followed by a reception for all arriving wedding guests. We received excellent advice and attention to detail when planning the events. The food was excellent at both events. The wines available from the wine list were interesting – not the typical ones we see everywhere. The wines selected were very popular with the guests. A beautiful charcuterie board for the reception was much appreciated. Staff were all excellent, both at the dinner and during the reception.
The New London Inn is a special place, with a lot of wonderful tradition. We last stayed there about 50 years ago, and were pleased it has retained so much charm--roaring fires on cold February evenings, antique furnishings, welcoming staff. The rooms have been nicely maintained, even including an up-to-date heating system where the thermostats really work. The restaurant is no longer open for breakfast, but they serve very nice muffins and scones in the lobby, with fresh coffee and tea.
My husband and I stayed at the New London Inn for the first time. It was wonderful! If you are fan of antique inns this is the place for you! Beautiful decor. The staff was great and always wiling to help and accommodate us. We ended up taking both our Friday and Saturday meals in the inn's dining room and bar. Teh food as great with a contemporary twist. The presentation was great along with the staff. If you are looking for a getaway weekend I suggest that you try the Ne London Inn!
