If I could leave less than 1 star I would. Absolutely horrible service. Waited 30 minutes for anyone to even take our order. Then we were told it would be an hour wait for food. Had a reservation and had to find staff to seat us after 5 minutes of waiting
I hate leaving negative reviews but criticism can help I hope. There was a mouse running around the dining area. Not a great sign for a restaurant and the staff were not overly concerned. Staff were otherwise friendly and very accommodating. The seafood chowder was heavily salted and my wife couldn’t stomach more than one bite. I tried it too and she was not exaggerating. The risotto fell into the same category of way too salty. My chicken wings were descent. They did comp both plates and provide a complimentary glass of wine. The restaurant was almost empty and it has a lower star rating than restaurants in the area, but the menu looked promising. Hopefully they can make the appropriate adjustments and get some positive reviews.
Staying at the doubleinn and did not want to drive. Tried the place twice. Average food. Mainly hotel guest. Had ony 2 or 3 tables. Only good part was the service. Two very lovely ladies serving with warmth.
Breakfast was ok. But staff don’t seem to clean tables although empty. So difficult to find a table. Short staffed for the 4 days we stayed?? Today Jun 5th they ran out of milk, so had to bring little pods. When asked they said they will be getting it the following day. Shoppers just across . They could have got management from. service staff were pleasant. Update: our breakfast charges were refunded. Thanks!
I came here for breakfast on a cold, sunny Saturday morning in February around 8:30am. I was the first customer of the morning, and only two other tables were taken after I left about an hour later. Standard, simple hotel restaurant atmosphere. I tried the Eggs Benny $16 which was good, also pretty standard, with a bowl of seasoned, hot home fries, few pieces of fruit. The coffee is a full pot, which I can never finish, but good for those who do. Friendly enough service. Nothing blew me away, but no complaints and I'd like to try here again for dinner actually, based on photos and reviews I see from others online.
It is a wonderful place . Great traditional maritime food, friendly service and such a warm and inviting venue. I’ll be back.
