Came here for our anniversary dinner while staying at the Jasper Park Lodge for the night. The menu does seem pricey at a glance, but the food was well worth it. When we arrived, we were seated by the fireplace and treated to a couple of glasses of champagne for our anniversary. Our waiter, Carlos, was very accommodating to let us relax and enjoy our dinner without rushing us. Speaking of dinner, the sirloin and rack of lamb were outstanding when paired with the broccoli and wild mushroom risotto. Everything was cooked perfectly with excellent presentation. I must say, this is the first time I've ordered rack of lamb and actually gotten an entire rack and not just 3 or 4 pieces as is the norm at most places... We had to decline desert and Carlos returned with a complimentary tray of anniversary treats from the kitchen. Overall, a wonderful experience, fantastic tasting food, and excellent service. Well worth it!
We were staying at JPL for Easter and had dinner at Moose's Nook for the first time. It was one of the best dine experiences we have ever had! The food was amazing! Our server Carlos went above and beyond to make our night special, he was very friendly and professional! We will definitely visit again in the summer!
Excellent meal. Prime rib was fabulous, onion soup was great, loved the beef tartare and the aged steak. Really enjoyed the entire meal.
Drove from Banff to Jasper and stopped here for lunch. What an amazing little first class hotel. Ate lunch and had a beer on the patio overlooking the lake. Great food, service, atmosphere, view, weather, furniture, and.... all great! Definitely will plan a trip here.
Always a stop to make when in Jasper. We dined with our 2 children and they had no problem to accommodate our picky little eaters. Great selection of steak from Wagu, Aged, and Prime Rib. I had my Prime Rib medium well, it was fabulous. Can't go wrong here IMO.
I'm not usually a huge fan of fine dinning due to portion size, but this restaurant blew my mind! Portions were good, me and my boyfriend left absolutely stuffed! So much flavor in every bite. I also loved the ambiance / atmosphere, very relaxing and peaceful. Also had wonderful service from our waiter Michelle. We loved it so much that we even returned for dinner our second night in a row.
We ate here for our anniversary. The food was not near what it should be for the price. We had prime rib and steak and the Keg is way more flavorful. Also we had the worst service. Our server only came to our table 3 times the whole night. He never asked how our food was until it was half an our later and we had already finished. We expected much better from the "famous JPL". Overall bad service and mediocre food that is over priced.
Definitely a very high end place to dine. Servers were excellent, food well.. this might have been the best meal I have personally ever had. I had the scallops for an appetizer, double smoked bacon wrapped bison tenderloin. Crème brulee for dessert. The chef even sent out a small treat for us to enjoy with our bottle of wine.
Service was a bit slow, but our steaks were cooked perfectly! There was a pianist playing for majority of our dinner, and he was amazing! As it was an anniversary dinner, we ended up getting a special Anniversary "Rock" with desserts! Price point was on par for a steak house. I would eat here again.
The food was possible but certainly not exceptional as one would expect at a Fairmont Resort. The risotto was somewhat under done the prime rib had overly large sections of fat that could easily have been trimmed after cooking and there were limited gluten-free options despite assurances that it would not be the case. Worst of all was exceptionally poor service. In a restaurant of this caliber you expect a waiter to be attentive and to bring what has been promised promptly and to ensure things like rolls are on the table almost none of which occurred.
