Story

The Midwifery Group was the first midwifery clinic to open it’s doors in Vancouver, British Columbia in 1998.

We view pregnancy and birth as normal, healthy, family-centered life events. We provide comprehensive maternity care for women and babies throughout the pregnancy, the labour and birth and the postpartum period. We deliver babies at BC Women's and St Paul's Hospitals and in homes.

We had a great experience with the Midwifery Group. I felt really well supported throughout my first pregnancy. The midwives really took the time to answer any questions I had at each appointment. I felt really prepared for labour and the midwives we're so compassionate and supportive throughout the process. The postpartum care was amazing, especially for nervous first time parents! I was supported by team 3 and definitely plan on returning if I have another baby!
Feeling very lucky to have had Team 3 at The Midwifery Group at our care provider. Each member was so lovely and they were all so well informed with a great system to ensure quality care. All visits were trauma informed and based around the care of both mother and baby. I had been with an OB for my first child and while she was an excellent physician, there was minimal patient care. The Midwifery Group have the perfect balance of compassion, care, professionalism and confidentiality. I would highly recommend.
I cannot speak highly enough about my experience with The Midwifery Group. I received care from Team 1 and felt that they were professional, caring, warm, thorough, and educated on the most up to date information. They supported me through my first pregnancy and a difficult birth. I never felt judged or rushed at appointments. And most importantly, I liked and trusted each midwife on the team so felt confident going into labor regardless of who was on call.
Highly recommend the Midwifery Group! I am beyond grateful for such an amazing experience with being pregnant and becoming a first time mom through the support of the Midwifery Group. They were very caring, supportive, resourceful, and quick to respond when needed! I would definitely come back when there's another little one. Shout out to Team 3 - Emily, Rachel, Tracy, Jill for the compassionate care and kindness you provided ! The thoughts of birthing a baby from womb to world was nerve racking but I'm so glad I had my midwife there during the whole process while in the hospital. Thank you again for all the support you ladies provided including post partum care. Also, thank you to the admin team for the warm welcomes and for your support. 10/10 recommend!!!
Midwifes are walking angels. I can't speak highly enough about how important they are and especially this group of amazing women. I used a different midwife for my first pregnancy and I can say without a doubt that The Midwifery Group is wonderful. Each of the midwifes had warm and sincere energy. This was so important in making me feel supported during the labour. The admin team was excellent and my inquiries were always responded to quickly. I would highly recommend this group .
Going to The Midwifery Group for my second pregnancy was the best thing I’ve ever done. Team 1 was amazing—caring, thoughtful, and care was seamless. They were thorough and mindful of every little detail about my family, my pregnancy, my concerns, and I felt I was in THE best hands. My labour was the best—calm, peaceful, and I felt truly cared for and advocated for. The postpartum home visits were so helpful and took away the stress of travelling with a newborn. I really can’t say enough great things. Thank you to Team 1 and especially Sophie and Laurie for the love and care you put into delivering my baby!
I had a wonderful experience with the Midwifery Group - Team 3, and the reception. The team was friendly, caring, attentive and knowledgeable. It was always a joy to go to our appointments. When extra care/help was needed, the midwives and reception personnel always went above and beyond to quickly help us. I was always impressed that, while I was seeing different midwives from an appointment to another, the person I was seeing was always up-to-date regarding my situation. A special thanks to Emily who was there for the delivery and who was wonderful!
This was our first baby and we felt very supported by Team 1 at Midwifery Group. Each midwife created a safe environment for us to ask questions and we felt we were making informed decisions throughout the process. The midwives worked collaboratively with the OB and team we BC Women's during labour/birth, making it a great experience for us. Can't speak enough about the post-partum care, which was amazing. We are so grateful for the support while our baby was tackling jaundice and we were getting our bearings as first time parents. The admin team was quick to respond and were on top of all of our appointments/referrals. Would definitely recommend Midwifery Group to others and return again in the future. Thank you Team 1 for your care!
We had the most amazing experience with The Midwifery Group. We got so much care and support throughout our visits and everyone on team 1 was absolutely wonderful. A huge thank you to Sarah for the amazing delivery of our baby! We could not be happier with our choice to use them throughout our pregnancy and delivery! Highly recommend!
Best decision we made was to go with The Midwifery Group. The whole team is amazing. My partner can not be more happy with the care and support she received during her whole journey of becoming a mother. Lots of support before, during, and after birth. Very responsive phone line. We highly recommend them to all our family and friends. We will definitely be coming back.
