Ignore the negative reviews and try this place before crossing it off your list. My fiancé and I had an early Valentine’s Day dinner here and had a blast, we were served by Annabelle and she was amazing! She kept our drinks filled, gave good conversation, made sure our food service was above and beyond. Servers like her are why we love going out. She made our date night memorable. Evan was fantastic as well, he was on it constantly keeping the eating area cleaned and making sure we were having a good time. He even apologized to us about a table being messy after others customers just left it wasn’t messy it just had a fondue pot on it We enjoyed the conversation we had with both of them and appreciate how hard they both worked tonight. We went here another night and I forgot the guys name but it was our first time here and he brought out his camera and took a film photo for us. He explained how everything worked and gave us suggestions whenever he could. This place is great from the food to the people. We highly recommend coming here because you will always make good memories ! The food is always good, how could it not be when you pick what you want and cook it yourself. We always get the four course meal for two, it’s an experience all in its own with friendly staff that adds to it as well. They even gave us a box of strawberries on the house for Valentine’s Day. We have lived in Michigan for about 4 months now so we’ve only been her twice but we’re already telling others about the great time we have. It’s worth every minute an penny being here even after the two hour experience we find our selves enjoying the environment so much that we just sit longer and talk with everyone.
I've been here several times, and enjoyed each visit. It's a perfect date experience for couples, and provides an intimate setting. I would suggest that if you're dining with a family of four, to order an extra plate selection upfront, being that the portions are a bit on the smaller side. In my opinion the dessert is always the highlight of the dining experience. We've tried several of them, and they've all been satisfying. Kid-friendliness: A great experience for older children 9-teen. Younger children need to be accompanied, because you're obviously dealing with very hot surfaces/food.
I loved the fondue but you definitely need to tell them to ADD SEASONING to the fondue AND ask them to bring ALL the seasonings when they bring your veggies to grill. Grilled veggies doesn't taste like much without the seasoning. The food itself was great! We had the vegan dinner and they were able to make that cheez melt. Look at my pic! However, it took a really long time when our waiter checked on us. About 15 minutes for the waiter to bring the seasonings for the veggies, they were cooked and I was already half way done. Not to mention the restaurant didn't have heat, end of January in Michigan. So it was cold, I had mittens for when I wasn't eating and my coat on my lap. Restaurant manager never came around to check in or even apologize for the no heat. I'm not used to that at all. For me, personally, if I'm spending my time to go out, I need good food, good service, and a good environment. I not planning on trying Melting Pot again though.
Traveled over an hour and a half one way to get to said restaurant, which, we were ok with. However, our waiter took his sweet time coming and going and what a started at a 515 reservation, ended at nearly 8 o'clock when we left. The sheer wait time in between courses was awful for what you were given. Don't get me wrong, the food was very good but after waiting nearly an hour for our main course to arrive, before we could even dig in, there was a long curly hair on our raw steak. Did our waiter notice? Nope because it took him nearly 20 minutes to come back and check on us again, informing him of what happened. We had to flag down a different waiter which we saw more often than our own. It was my husbands birthday yesterday, which he chose where to go. Just disappointing when we read over the google reviews. Would we go back? Maybe but to us, it just wasn't worth it. Living so far away, the wait times in between courses was awful, and the lack of/slow service. Any time at any other restaurant there was something wrong with our food, a manager came out to comp something or offer something free. Neither happened and we paid full price.
We went last night for my birthday dinner. Had an absolute blast! Evan was our waiter, he was great! As they were busy, everything is slow paced, which I actually loved, it gave us time to truly enjoy our experience! So much fun and will definitely be back! We ordered the Wisconsin Cheddar for cheese, a California and a house salad, the steak lovers and the land and sea for our entree cooked mojo style and the flaming turtle for our chocolate. 100% satisfied!
Tried the Alpine fondue based on reviews and it was amazing! It is such a tasty contrast when you pair with the green apples and cauliflower. Also tried garden pot, which had broths to fry an assortment of veggies /impossible meatballs / pasta in. This was tasty but probably wouldn’t get again unless part of an order for a large group.. There were also many options for the dessert chocolate fondue, so of course chose the yin yang white and dark chocolate for cool aesthetics- I am not normally a fan of white chocolate but this was phenomenal, especially dipping in rice krispies and strawberries. Make sure to call ahead and put a reservation in as they get busy
This place was phenomenal! We came here for our wedding anniversary and did the 4 course meal for 2 people. EVERYTHING was full of flavor and all of the ingredients tasted fresh. Our waiter, Ian, was also amazing. Walked us through the entire process thoroughly and was very attentive. The manager came over and had a nice chat with us not the typical, "Did you enjoy your meal? Okay, bye.", type of thing. This was our first time here, but definitely not our last!
Restaurants review Food taste/ quality - 10/10 Price - 8/10 Ambience - 7/10 Service time - 7/10 Reception - 7/10 Food taste and quality is amazing. Price to food ratio is high. There is no great ambience, felt like a regular restaurant. We took a 4 course for 2 and believe me it took 3 hours, food came very very late between each course. We were standing with no one addressing at the reception for almost 10 mins, there was no hello/hi from the lady at reception, we never felt welcoming. Saying that, our server Erik was amazing. Over all for food ONLY, we may come back again.
Let's start with the location. If you haven't been here before plan to go a little early to find parking in the structure. It's free but free also means limited. Food: We planned for Al la carte but opted for dinner for two. The first part of our meal was drinks. Whiskey Business and Jack Berry Smash both were strong drinks if you prefer a whiskey cocktail. Next, the cheese fondue which was good I preferred mine with bacon and the other was a vegan cheese that tasted like it had a little spice to it. We had salads: California mix and bacon spinach. Both were very good and the vinaigrette on the California salad was amazing. I picked the steak lovers for the entree and the grill top. It's something about grilling that reminds me of the summer. They offered a seasoning called garlic and wine. It was good and I added it to everything. We did dessert which I picked the Flaming Turtle. It was very delicious. Overall it was a great experience. Check out the photos.
What a wonderful night out! I had a lovely time at the Melting Pot. The menu was full of many great options- including vegetarian and gluten free. The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. It was a wonderfully intimate dining experience. The table for two was roomy yet close enough to share the meal. It's not a place you could go to every week but will be special every time you go. Vegetarian options: Parking is free in a garage right next to the restaurant
