Specializing in Gourmet Breakfasts and Hand-Crafted Lunches

Story

The Maple Counter Cafe brings to the table three generations of restaurant excellence and expertise. Beginning with my grandparents’ restaurant in Chicago over 35 years ago, the artful skill of handcrafting breakfasts and lunches has become a family tradition. Drawing heavily from the inspiration of my parents’ restaurant, The Oak Table Cafe in Sequim, WA, my wife Rachel and I proudly carry the flag of a family passion. In our quest to create a business which smiles on the world, we maintain that there is no substitute for quality. At the Maple Counter Cafe, great pride is taken in creating a memorable experience, with close attention paid to the food, and especially to the customer.

Chefs at the Maple Counter Cafe understand that preparing good food takes time and special care, so we start at dawn every day making numerous batters from authentic, coveted recipes that hold true to our vision of a memorable meal. Our batters are not from packaged mixes – all are carefully blended by hand using fresh, ingredients, such as unbleached hard wheat flour, fresh eggs, and real cream. Another important aspect of our batters comes from our sourdough barrel. This old-fashioned process of nurturing yeast has been handed down from generation to generation, and is what makes our pancakes light and fine textured. All of our syrups and toppings for our pancakes, crepes, and omelets are delicately prepared from scratch-recipes.

Nothing can replace fresh products for food value or taste. The butter used in our restaurant is above USDA 93 score, of the finest available. By rendering out the impurities (salts and solids), we are left with the pure “golden oil” which we use to baste eggs and cook other special dishes. Our whipped butter is simply that – nothing more, nothing less. We have chosen a special blend of coffee to complement your meal, and we serve it with real whipping cream. Our lemonade, orange, and grapefruit juices are freshly squeezed in our kitchen every day.

The use of locally sourced ingredients is a priority at The Maple Counter Cafe, better serving you and our great community. By incorporating items such as locally baked breads, fresh produce from nearby farms, and quality meats from around the Walla Walla area, we are ensuring a freshness you can taste.

We at the Maple Counter Cafe thank you for visiting our page and can't wait to see you down at the restaurant soon!

We love our customers. You’re the reason we’re here!

I haven't had food this good from a restaurant in a long time. Everything coming out of the kitchen looked incredible!! I had the Blueberry Cobbler French Toast with Bacon & my mom had the Mushroom Omelette with Pancakes, they finish their Omelettes off in the oven, gave me Quiche vibes & it was all absolutely delicious!! Amber is super sweet & gave fantastic service! They were extremely busy when we arrived yet sat us & a lobby full of people very quickly. Kitchen did an amazing job on ticket times & presentation as well. Will be coming back to town just for this place. Excellent!
This place is fantastic! It's a busy breakfast spot, with a queue in the entrance waiting. We were seated in under 20min, and had our drink orders in shortly after. The food was absolutely delicious. I went with The Eggs Casey, the eggs were soft and fluffy, the croissant was toasted and buttery, the mushroom gravy complimented the whole dish. As a side, we had the pancakes, which were soft and fluffy. My friend had the corn beef hash, which she said was really tasty. I will absolutely come back!
This place is outstanding. Was in town visiting family and found this place for brunch. It was so good we had to come back a second time before we left. Had the Apple Pancake, it was delicious. It was kind of like a giant apple pie. If I was gunna do it again I would share with another person. Their potatoes are wonderful, and honestly everything we had both meals were great. If you are in Walla Walla, don't miss out on this place!
Went in for a sunday morning brunch. Despite the crowd, they were able provide great service. The food came fast and well made, and our server was wonderful. We did have a short wait. but way less than expected. We would definitely comenback.
We have adult children that live here that we visit annually, and we ALWAYS have to eat breakfast here. Everything we've tried has been delicious, but this time I had the Eggs Nicole and it was the most delicious breakfast. I will order this from now on. The hollandaise sauce is the best I've ever had. I like spinach but am leery of it because it is sometimes really strong tasting, but this was perfect. I had the potatoes as a side and they were tasty with crunchy spots. The others had Blueberry pancakes, omelets and Blueberry French toast and also we shared their famous apple pancake. It's pricey, but we can't get food this delicious anywhere else, so we will continue to eat here.
