I can not begin to say how amazing the food and service is at The Loon! Someone recommended this place to us and we went in to taste the food and fell in love - so much that they ended up catering our wedding! Chef Matt is incredible!! He is very clearly passionate about his food and it shows in the amazing quality and presentation. The team made our special day so perfect and stress free, it was incredible. The food was fantastic, and our guests couldn't stop raving about it! A huge huge huge thank you to the Loon and Chef Matt for all the delicious food and amazing service : We can't wait to stop by again for a meal!

I ordered the bison burger and Caesar salad and my girlfriend Ordered their wings an hour ago came home and Their house bbq sauce tasted like terrible canned spaghetti sauce. Who ever is behind the kitchen needs to learn to taste the food they send out. Because that was absolutely dreadful. My burger was under seasoned and non toasted bun it was pretty disappointing when the Cesar salad and the fries are the best part. Will not be ordering from the loon again.
Great spot in Lakefield for lunch. Service is always great, very nice friendly "local" feel. Excellent poutine, recommend the Dockside on tap.
We're really happy that the old Thirsty Loon has reopened / rebranded at this new location. We've had the ribs, burgers, shrimp tacos and we've fed our kiddo the fries, chicken fingers, mac & cheese. All of which were decent and worth getting again. I'm looking forward to being able to take advantage of the patio / dining indoors! Editing to add: it tastes and looks like they make their burger patties in house!
Wonderful lunch today - delicious soup & amazing Caesar salad! The service was excellent. Only critique is the background music. A soft piano jazz would be an lovely enhancement..
Fabulous dinner and so quick. GBD was the best chicken burger. The Caesar Salad and grilled chicken was so tasty and with a different twist.
Excellent location for Lunch and Dinner, ... staff, management and the menu selections are 1st class. I would reccomend The Loon Lakefield to anyone for a great dining experience. Kid-friendliness: Seating tables and "Kid" chairs are very accessible. Parking: Lots of parking immediately accessible and adjacent to the restaurant. Wheelchair accessibility: Very easy access from the parking lot to the restaurant interior and patio in the summer season.
Natalie, our server, was attentive and helpful. D tried the Chicken Parm sandwich ... crazy good! Chicken was crispy and tender at the same time, I had the wings 'n fries, no complaints and cleaned the plate. I think it was last fall when they opened at their current location. D and I tend to arrive at off hours. Would recommend you make reservations. June 2022 D and I arrived for lunch and a Blue Jays game. Natalie was here once again, so glad. She's a terrific server, attentive and pleasant. So, I try to never use restaurant washrooms ... enough said. Kudos to Natalie who makes sure the men's washroom is always clean which is so exceptional. The washroom has also been upgraded so what is sometimes disgusting is a pleasant experience. Now to the food! Great wings me and burger with cheese and onion ring was enjoyed by D and we split her fries. Other guys seemed to appreciate the $6 pints ... I have no idea a reasonable price. Yup nice experience. Nov 2022 Been awhile since D and I were in at The Loon. Brodie was our server tonight. What an exceptional young man. Terrific as we watched him behind the bar and offered suggestions for dining. The soup was exceptional and the toasted accompanying toasted bread was perfect for dipping and sopping up! The wings and fries were perfect for me. D appreciated Brodie's insights into the wine list and I appreciate the simplicity of the fries and wings and great coffee. Thanks team, well done in all areas.
Had Mother’s Day brunch on Sunday. The service was excellent and the food was superb! The chef came to our table to greet us. That doesn’t happen very often anymore. There were 7 of us and all agreed the food was 10/10! Local ingredients were used and profiled on the menu.
