Nice restaurant in the town of Meaford. Best for families, the prices were good and the portions were generous. There is a nice patio but it was a scorcher of a day so we sat inside were things were nice and cool. Service was good and the food was tasty and fresh.
Great ambiance and friendly staff. Only 3 stars, however, because the "poutine" I ordered was not actually poutine. Fries, gravy and shredded cheese was what I was served. Mid-meal, my server asked me "how's you're poutine, sir?" "Well, it's not actually poutine" To which he replied, "Yeah, I guess it's just fries and gravy with cheese." At least someone there gets it. Attached is a picture of what REAL poutine looks like.
Casual ski-themed diner. Good food and service. Decent prices. Cauliflower bites were crispy and delicious. Trivia pursuit cards on the table are a fun touch!Food: 4/5
Great little place, the food was tasty, and it got busy pretty quick, so I would recommend making a reservation especially during the busy months. The food arrived in a timely manner, it tasted fresh, and was hot. The server was really great with the kids and adults. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying everything on their menu. Kid-friendliness: They provided the kids with colouring sheets and crayons, and they even had a surprise drawer where the kids could pick something out.
Have been spending a lot of time in Meaford lately so it’s important to know where the major spots to eat are and this one was of them we tried last time but hours didn’t permit. Anyways, the yin and yang of this place was the wait time unacceptable for any food establishment and the quality of the salmon they provided the salmon was cooked and seasoned great.
Absolutely worst experience I've ever had a restaurant establishment and I wish I could give it negative stars. Upon arrival we were told there was a wait which was totally ok. We were seated and it quickly went downhill from there. Ordered drinks and apps before our actual meals. It was 40+ minutes to receive our entrees from the time we got our apps, however, we had to ask the waitress how much longer to which she said it was very busy and every other excuse in the book. Once we asked where our food was it magically just appeared at the table and obviously had been sitting for a while. Once the food arrived, sides were cold, guacamole was missing, two orders of gravy missing. We told the waitress and it just seemed like we were a nuisance. My mom ordered a refill of hot tea and asked for a 2nd teabag and the waitress gave her attitude and told her she'd have to charge for another teabag because every restaurant she had been to does that, no other place charges for another teabag but nice try. We get the bill to which we are shocked when we're told that the tip is automatically applied to the bill as we're a large group. We were a group of 9 and 4 were kids. Not once have we gone out elsewhere where the tip is automatically applied - this is not disclosed upon being seated or even mentioned in the menus itself. My mom paid for all of us and I told her to fight the bill because sure enough we were charged for gravy we never received and the automatic tip was another $40. The waitress had the nerve to argue with us even after we told her we'd just do separate bills but then insisted the tip would still apply. In the end the tip was removed. This place is not worth and while the food was mostly good, the service and staff truly are lacking. I refuse to tip if I feel the service doesn't deserve it and the fact that she just added a tip, without disclosing it tells me this place is money hungry. I personally will never return, especially being from out of town. This place left a horrible taste in my mouth.
Delicious food, generous portions & cosy atmosphere. We tried the fish & chips, chicken parmesean and Mandori grilled chicken wrap; they were all tasty & we would order all of them next time. I’d like to see less single use plastic used - the plastic stick which held the wrap together could easily be wooden, butter and tartar sauce could be served in small bowls.
Delicious food and wonderful staff- especially Benny and Kaitlin, who have served us multiple times! It's a cozy atmosphere and the trivia cards are a bonus while waiting for the food!
Been here a couple of times and we love it. Great beer selection, snappy and friendly service, great food. All the employees seem really happy to work there .Food: 5/5
I ordered the brisket poutine; my wife the brisket melt. Both were amazing. Their barbecue sauce is sweet and delish. We would come back from Hamilton just to eat here.
