A very unusual local chinese cuisine dim sum restaurant located within the residential district of Ladysmith BC. We have not tried it yet but intend to go back and update the is pre review when we have. It’s super unusual to be able to get dim sum. It appears to be a family run establishment and is super friendly. You come in and claim a table then grab a menu. Walk up to the counter and order and pay for your food and they call you when it’s ready. When you are finished clear your own. I will update this review once I actually try the food. But so far the place is casual and comfy and Jia who is at front of the house is helpful and friendly.
Nice place to dine in. Ginger beef was good with chow mein. Ramen was on thenbland side. Definitely a place to visit, food can be a bit more flavourful to enhance the whole dining experience.
Accidentally found this hidden gem right up a massive hill. Totally worth it for the cart dim sum weekends only. Took me a second to understand how it worked but was charmed by the friendly service and incredible dim sum. XLBs and the Siu Mai was the same quality as somewhere like Dinesty but made with love. Felt like being fed at my aunt's house. Will 100% be returning.
We tried Jas Cafe as a recommendation from a friend who had been here before. They did not disappoint!nnThe XLB soup dumplings were perfectly steamed. The soup was so delicious as was the filling.nnThe Tonkotsu ramen was rich, silky & flavourful. The noodles were perfect cooked with a nice chew. The char siu was tender and practically melted in my mouth. The marinated ramen egg was good.nnWe will be back! Can't wait to try the other items on the menu!
The best foods on the island!! Very spacious and clean interior. We tried their wonton soup, tonkotsu ramen, bbq pork buns, shrimp dumplings and xiaolong bao They were all amazing I wish I could visit more often. The owners are very welcoming and kind. Don't forget to grab bubble tea on your way home!
